Victor’s Past
Okay, buckle up folks, because (as always) I went completely overboard…
This episode dropped some big hints regarding something that I’ve been waiting to learn more about for basically the entire series. I’m talking, of course, about Victor’s past. Quite honestly, I’m a bit overwhelmed with just how much information this episode gave us.
Let me back up a second. I’ve been anxious to learn more about Victor’s past since the very first episode, when we saw this…

This transition of Victor going from long to short hair struck me as really important. I’ve been really curious to learn what is so significant about Victor’s long hair and why he decided to cut it.
Up until this point, we’ve only gotten a few small hints.

We know from Yuri that Victor purposely played up the fact that he had a very androgynous appearance with his long hair and half-skirt.
And we also know that Victor had his long hair for a while, back when Chris was still rather young, but had cut it off by the time that he promised Yurio that he would choreograph a program for him.
There’s always been something about that initial introduction to Victor (in the first gif) that I’ve found ominous. He goes from being in the light to passing through darkness, and when he emerges again his long hair is gone. It just feels very significant–like something happened behind the scenes that nobody, not even Yuri, knows about.

When you’re still upset that you placed last in the skate competition but have to show up to the function
I love this
Otabek: You have ten pirozhkis, someone takes three, how many do you have left?
Yuri: Ten.
Otabek: But someone took three–
Yuri: Ten pirozhkis and a dead body.
Otabek: //sigh// Alright. You have ten pirozhkis, I take three, how many do you have left?
Yuri: Five.
Otabek: Five?
Yuri: You take three, I give you two more.
