A lot of people see how hyper focused Lotor is on getting Quintessence, and on the surface, it seems like he’s got an ulterior motive about it, and is only using Allura to get some power or whatever.
Something that struck me though was how, step by step, he’s been following in his mom’s footsteps about this whole thing.
Lotor isn’t using Allura, he genuinely believes that Quintessence is the key to bringing peace to the Gale empire, in the same idealistic way that his mom Honerva was studying Quintessence to advance Altea and bring prosperity to the Universe. He even talked about harvesting it sustainably from a planet before Zarkon exiled him for being such a good boy.
He’s scientific, more like his mom than his dad. Unfortunately though, I feel like Lotor is going to end up like his mom in horrible ways. He’s going to push to hard in his belief that the Quintessence in the rift is good, and he’s gonna get corrupted like his mom. Maybe at that point Haggar will step in and save her son so that he doesn’t end up like her and Zarkon.
In the end though, Lotor’s intentions are good, if a bit idealistic, and any bad things that happen will be genuine accidents on his part, not intentional harm.
Also, he’s totally not using Allura, and will feel bad if anything happens to her because of his ignorance about the danger in the rift.
Sooo… anyone else notice the whole colour symbolism thing going on??
*Edit: If y’all don’t ship Klance or Lotura then that’s fine!! But there’s no need to comment anything negative - this is just a suggestion about colours matching my ships, nothing more or less ^^
