marinette finds out chat noir is adrien but instead of telling him she decides to fuck with him a little knowing full well now that the boy loves her.

cut to her (as ladybug) saying “oh no he’s just a friend :)” whenever reporters are asking about her relationship with chat noir.

adrien is shook and can’t help but feel that this is karma for something he’s done but can’t exactly figure out what it is.

chat noir starts to visit the bakery and becomes close to tom and sabine who slowly become his parental figures and he starts feel like he finally has a family.

he starts to see that his own actual father is more of a stranger to him then tom and sabine. things change adrien stops asking nathalie about his father, he stops talking about gabriel, he stops calling him and like yeah he lives in the mansion and does all his extracurricular activities but other than that he’s unofficially cut ties to gabriel.

and while gabriel is out there akumatizing people to get his wife back he doesn’t realize that he’s lost the only other family he has.

it hits him really hard when he hears adrien refers to him as just ‘gabriel’ and refers to tom as ‘dad’
