7. “I’ve missed you” kiss
Diplomatic missions were the worst, especially ones that required them to go out on their own and revisit past planets they had saved to renew treaties and bindings. Or to reach out to neutral civilizations to try and persuade them to join their cause against the Galra. But as Lance landed his lion back at the Castle of Lions, he breathed a sigh of relief and shut down his monitors. He’d been gone for nearly a week, but it had felt like months. He trekked out of Blue, trailing his hand along her interior and giving her a few pats as he stepped off the ramp. She thrummed in response, and he gave a soft chuckle before the sound of the door opening caught his attention.
He turned to see Keith stopping dead in the doorway, a little breathless, as if he’d run to the hangar from the other side of the castle. Lance grinned at him, tilting his chin up as he threw his hands to his hips, watching Keith briskly trot over. “What’s up, Mullet? Better not have been lazing around while I was awa-”
He was cut off as the dark-haired boy grabbed under the lip of his chestplate, dragging him forward, and smashing their lips together before Lance could brace himself. His yelp of surprise was muffled against pink lips but he quickly melted into it, hands reaching down to wrap around Keith’s hips as the other slid his over Lance’s shoulders. It was all teeth and tangled tongues and spit, but Lance could only describe what he was feeling as “coming home”.
“I’ve missed you,” the slightly shorter male said when they finally broke apart. Lance huffed a laugh over his cheek, and silently reveled in the way Keith shivered from it.
“Did you? I don’t know if I believe it. That kiss was a little weak.” He grinned as the other rolled his eyes, and he loved the way the pout on Keith’s lips pushed his cheeks up enough to make the light freckles that decorated his skin dance under the light flush spread over his nose.
“You’re such an asshole,” Keith growled lightly, leaning up again.
“Maybe, but you love it,” Lance replied before closing the distance again, falling into a much gentler kiss than before. Keith hummed against him and Lance slid his fingers just barely under his hem of his shirt, tan fingers ghosting over pale skin. He’d missed him too.
