Umm okay but how else was I supposed to deal with all of this :( anyway, I just needed to get this out of my chest. Now I proceed to return to my cave.
Why Adam Is Not A Bad Person
Adam is not a fucking horrible person, yes he and shiro ended the engagement and yes he didn’t support shiro through his journey to kerberos but shiro was dying of a severe degenerative disease, and Adam knew he didn’t have much time left with the love of his life as it was. And adam said “i won’t go through this again”, hinting that Shiro had already abandoned Adam once before for his dream. So while Adam didn’t support Shiro, he was also extremely hurt and angry that Shiro was choosing space over him AGAIN and Shiro basically told Adam he wasn’t enough for him AGAIN.
Right there. That is the face of someone who is hurting, who is conflicted and at odds with what he wants and what he needs.
Adam said Shiro is the world to him, absolutely everything, but yet Shiro left him…that fucking sucks it really does. Shiro got hurt but Adam did too, if not more than equally. Shiro, the noble and brave leader and friend of so many, one of the kindest souls in this show, would not choose to give his life to a complete ass. Adam is validated, both he and Shiro gave up on each other and they both made mistakes regarding their “long and beautiful relationship”. They are both in the wrong, thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Keith: What are you talking about?
Lance: You told me to leave the math to Pidge. I think that was wise. Pidge is good with math. All of you are good at something.
Keith: Lance please… take the helm and come on.
Lance: No.
Keith: Lance.
Shiro: Keith… you can’t force him.
Keith: But-
Shiro: Keith, you had the freedom to leave and join he blade, you cannot deny the same freedom from others.
Keith: …
Shiro: Are you sure about this Lance?
Lance: Yeah, you guys don’t need me.
Keith: WE NEED YOU!
Shiro: Keith please… This is not about who needs you, Lance. This is about what -you- need.
“Love,” Allura plucks one of the holograms from the ground, holds the spectral flower between two, deceptively delicate fingers. “Is a lie. Just look at the trouble it’s wrought across the galaxy.”
Prince Lotor traces the veins on her wrist with his claw, wonders at how easy it would be to draw blood. How fragile she is. How dangerous. “But before that, it was merely love. Controlled, it is no more dangerous than a holo-generator.”
Her expression darkens. “It convinced me to fly into a star once. It can be plenty dangerous when it wants to be.”
“But you defeated it, did you not?”
Allura stays silent.
“I imagine that you would kill me if you thought our love would lead us down the same road as Zarkon. I would destroy the universe for you, sacrifice every star for you, but you wouldn’t let me.” Prince Lotor kisses her hand, and intertwines his fingers with hers. The flower falls, and dissolves into light before it hits the ground. “Would you?”
“I- no.” She admits, leaning her head on his shoulder. “But who’s to say that I won’t turn out to be the raging warlord?”
“If so, then I would stop you. I would tear out my heart and lay it at your feet.”
Allura sighs, still not satisfied. “I love you, and it scares me.”
“Oh, but darling,” He grabs her chin, and kisses her, hard and soft and full of all of the feelings he can’t quite put into words. “That’s the point.”
(dialogue is so much fun. Plot, not so much.)
