Adrien sat by his desk buddy, Alya, and watched the chaos unfold beside him. Alya too was sitting in her seat at their table, twitching at the sight.
Chloe and Marinette were fighting again.
Adrien had suffered too many rants from Chloe to be receptive of this behavior, so as soon as Marinette had stood from her seat, and Chloe from hers, he had tried to de-escalate the problem.
It hadn’t worked.
“Honestly, they fight like a married couple.” The blonde model sighed, gazing forward in a bored manner.
“Oh my gosh, you see it too?” Alya tapped his arm to gain his attention, looking hopeful, “I swear, with how often Marinette praises Chloe’s fashion sense and kisses her attitude, I’d say she has a huge crush.”
“Whoa,” Adrien replied, “Really? Chloe’s the exact opposite. She says Marinette has horrid fashion sense for such a nice girl.”
“Wow. They’re like the main characters in a romcom.”
“I guess we’re the best friends who have to get them together?”
It had been a joke, but the two paused, reaching realization in unison.
“We should set them up!”
“Jinx!”
They laughed together before glancing around. Everyone’s attention was focused on the growing fight.
“As if I’d want to live in a bakery anyway! That’s the sort of plebian living that should be left to the help!”

The matchmaker pair brought their mutual gazes back to each other.

Adrien and Alya peeked around the corner, where Marinette was approaching Chloe with a bemused look on her face.

They watched as Marinette struck up a conversation, still looking for Alya. Chloe let out a disgruntled reply and refused to look up from her phone. Nodding to each other, the matchmakers simultaneously brought out their phones to send their respective friends a message.
“Sorry, but this is for your own good. Either eat alone or with a classmate ;)”
They had a perfect vantage point to watch their friends’ faces ignite with fierce blushes before settling into an awkward silence.
Operation Chloenette was go.
The A-team – Adrien had had a blast coming up with various team names – shared a subtle high-five before vanishing from the restaurant.
“I hope it goes well.”
“Maybe they won’t fight in class anymore?”
“Huh. I’m hoping for a bit of romance, not a miracle.”

The next day, when they arrived in class, one occurrence was immediately noticeable.
“I can’t just blow cash on a trip to the Eiffel tower whenever I feel like it!”
“Then just let me pay!”
“No! We’re supposed to work together!”
“Then why don’t we take turns! I want to take you to dinner there!”
Nino glanced sideways at them, “They’re,” he blinked and paused, unsure of the validity of the words about to exit his mouth, “They’re arguing over where their… Next date is going to be?”
It sounded like a question to those who heard it. But to Alya and Adrien, it sounded like success.
Miraculous Headcannons I Wrote at 3 AM
- Everyone in Paris doesn’t share one braincell, which means it’s a lot harder for Marinette or Adrien to transform. So they can’t just jump behind a bench or something
- Marinette’s fingers are covered in bandages from constantly pricking her fingers while sewing
- Adrien has dimples on his cheeks and they’re adorable
- Marinette and Adrien sit next to each other because she actually pays attention when the teacher calls her name
- Marinette bringing Adrien croissants because she knows he loves them
- Adrien staring at Marinette and trying to count her freckles
- Marinette doesn’t have pictures of Adrien on her walls or as her computer background (because I don’t care if he’s a model that’s just weird)
- Marinette wearing her hair differently when she’s detransformed because the pigtails are a dead giveaway
- After long nights of patrolling, Marinette and Adrien fall asleep against each other at school.
- Marinette smells like vanilla and chocolate from all the baking.
- Adrien loves sunflowers and has vases filled with them in his room, sunflower pins on his bag, and doodles them on his papers.
- Marinette literally cannot dance, she’ll end up falling and possibly breaking something
- Ladybug starts falling in love with Chat a lot faster than she anticipated and now they freaking love each other
- Marinette stands up for herself a lot more because she’s iconic and loves herself
- Adrien starts crushing on Marinette because she’s basically ladybug *cough cough* but she also has her own touches that make her so damn adorable
- Alya and Nino actually believe Marinette when she calls out Lila
- Chloé literally hates Lila with a passion and hopes she crawls back into whatever hole she came from
