(lance and keith are quietly cuddling on lance’s bed, keith with his head on lance’s shoulder, absentmindedly tracing hearts on lance’s chest as his eyes stare off into the distance, while lance uses his free hand to scroll through his instagram feed)
lance: you’ve been really quiet today. what’re you thinking about?
keith: i’m just thinking about my boss baby theory.
lance: … are you talking about the boss baby movie? like, the alec baldwin one?
keith: yeah. pidge and i watched it last night, and i kind of have this theory that the movie isn’t a “real” movie - i mean, obviously it isn’t real, it’s an animated movie - but like, the entire plot of movie isn’t real in that it’s basically this imagined fantasy world created by the main character as a way for him to understand and come to, uh, emotional terms with the arrival of his baby brother. so there’s no babycorp, no baby in suits, it’s all just a little kid’s imagination gone wild. i mean, (visibly growing more animated) the movie opens up with an example of how, like, pervasive the main character’s imagination is- he’s able to come up with an entire world, with different rules, and he casts the people in his life as characters in his setting, so suggesting that maybe he’s actually playing pretend, or y’know, imagining everything, is actually pretty plausible. also, when you’re watching the movie, there’s a ton of inconsistencies and like, plot holes? hang on, lemme get my laptop so we can watch the film-
