Picture this:
- Gabriel is impressed by the control Marinette has over her emotions based on the many times he’s tried to akumatize her
- He’s also impressed by her creativity and ingenuity
- She’s easily trusted by those around her and has been able to manipulate situations to help her friends. There’s also the fact that she’s seen the grimoire but kept shut about it to everyone else, keeping suspicions off of him.
- So he decides to attempt recruiting her
- Obviously, he’s a master manipulator and convinces her that LB and CN are the true villains, that Hawkmoth is the good guy but, much like with her Lila situation, everyone gets it the wrong way around. He promises to fulfill all of her wishes if she helps him make things right.
- He has her wrapped around his finger
- Except he doesn’t
- Marinette takes the opportunity to play double agent. She is both a hero and a villain. It’s extremely dangerous, but she’ll do anything to bring him down.
- Fu is both terrified and impressed by Marinette’s plan to play a villain (and the ease with which she’s able to do so)
- Marinette expertly gets HM to do what she wants with only Mayura getting in the way occasionally
- Eventual ridiculousness when adrichat finds out about his dad and how he’s “manipulating” Marinette and thus tries to convince her to leave The Dark Side
- I just want to see Marinette dishing out a Villain Speech
