Something I think people need to understand, and I can't believe I have to say this. Being anti-gun control does not equal being pro murder. I was discussing the topic with some friends, and frends of those friends who don't know me as well gave me looks as if I was an absolute monster. I'm talking looks of hatred here. All I had said was that I don't think guns are the issue, but Mental Health is.

I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with you about the mental health issue. As a counterpoint, I’m going to paste an ask I just got that sums up my feelings and also gives me the opportunity to knock out two asks at once:
“The “its a mental health problem, not a gun issue” argument is the EXACT same as saying “teach men not to rape” or “teach burglars not to steal” It’s just so naive, and the people saying this would be the exact ones mocking that argument from the other side. “Fix mass murderers mental health problems, dont take away their means of killing people” is fucking stupid. Sure, making guns harder to get won’t stop criminals. But it will stop teenagers who shoot up schools. Because they get them legally”
