Klance Pacific Rim AU

Okay, so I know it’s been a while since the movie came out, and probably no one is into this particular AU anymore, but I’ve recently watched the movie and i’m in love??

I absolutely suck at names, so my character replacements will be, lmao, just descriptions of the characters on the movie. Like, feel free to tell me the names if it helps? I don’t think it will really.

When you continue reading, uh, it’s a little lengthy..?

:’) oops

Now, I have changed a few things, but not all AU’s are prefect and I quite like the adjustments…

Lance and his older brother, Aron, are the original two piloting the Gypsy-Danger jaeger. They have a strong bond, faced with so many victories they grow used to it. Until one fateful day when one of the largest category 4 Kaiju known arrives and kills Lance’s brother.

Five years and four months later, Lance has been working construction. Shiro, I’m making him the commander dude, contacts him, requesting (more like demanding) him to come back to their headquarters to help seal the barrier. How can Lance refuse? He does a little, but he’d rather die in a jaeger, yes?

Lance meets up with some old buddies when arriving to the headquarters. Hunk and Shay, two rangers for their jaeger say hi to Lance once again. Lance and Hunk are close, but not as close to each other like in VLD. Hunk has the dog, but he’s not the character in the movie who has it. Hunk and Shay are just another pair of rangers.

Shiro and Lance encounter Rolo, and it’s quite unpleasant. He blames Lance for all the distress with the Kaijus, saying he should’ve stayed at construction and such. In the movie, there is a conflict with two characters, but Rolo isn’t any of them. He’s an extra character to take that role. You’ll understand soon ;) .

Lance and Shiro meet up with Alfor and Allura, the Father and Daughter Rangers in their force (see what i did there?). No, Alfor doesn’t have a dog, Hunk has the privilege of having them. Allura and Alfor are very kind to Lance, and are really glad he’s back. They share their condolences for his loss, and then part ways.

Then… Lance meets Keith. Being by Shiro’s side almost 24/7, inspecting and watching over the other rangers, Lance and him get along. To a certain level that is. Keith is shy, and doesn’t talk much, but when he does Keith can’t seem to want to stop.

Shiro, Keith, and Lance continue their way to the Laboratory to meet, guess who- Pidge and Matt. Pidge is psycho crazy about the Kaijus while Matt is more technical and thinks his sister is crazy. They have sibling conflicts, but resolve them towards the end when Matt and Pidge Drift with a Kaiju brain.

Pidge also meets Nyma, the infamous boot man (dong judge i literally only call him that). She isn’t as snarky, or sassy as the original guy is in the movie, but she has the flare. Being completely taken back that Pidge actually drifted with a Kaiju brain, and one was heading towards her shop at that very moment, she sends pidge off into the city. They eventually get back together and Matt and Pidge get that brain they wanted.

Don’t worry, Nyma survives, but she’s looking for her boot ;)

Alright, back to the fam- Shiro is stern towards Keith. Their relationship in VLD is more intimate than in this AU, but there’s still some love to show. Shiro is like a brother to Keith, and Keith couldn’t be more blessed to have himself saved when he was younger. Now, Keith is perfectly capable of being a Ranger for a Jaeger, but Shiro absolutely does not wan’t Keith to pilot one. At all. He can’t loose him.

Lance and Keith have their moments. Being across the hall from each other, Keith will sneak some glances at Lance through his peeping-hole. One time, Lance kept his door open and was removing his shirt, and for the life of Keith he couldn’t stop blushing and got really flustered and when he saw Lance spot him, Keith practically sprinted to the other side of his door out of sheer embarrassment. Lance was H0T.

But, it’s not love at first sight. Keith has his comments about Lance’s performance. He doesn’t think Lance is suitable enough to pilot the Gypsy-Danger and his fighting tactics are stalled. This encourages Lance to invite Keith to the mats (their practicing for Drift Compatibles), and Shiro refuses at first but gives into Lance’s nagging. This is the moment Lance and Keith realize their Drift Compatible and will try anything to pilot together.

Pacific Rim AU OG Klance obviously...? VLD Keith is the asian girl Lance is hot and shredded Shiro is tired and old Pidge is the same lmao
