Of course! Might seem like a lot of info, but I swear it’s not

So one if my favorite aspects from the Aztecs was the only reason they sacrificed people was for their gods. A really major one being the sun, afraid he’d be unpleased and never rise the Aztecs sacrificed for him. You also have the rain god, whom you sacrificed babies and children to make him cry. (Oh my god I love the Aztecs) They normally only sacrificed outsiders or lower class-men like peasants.

Through out the years, every year they’d choose the most handsome man to “rule” over their empire .And with him he was sort of just placed in a pretty high power. They were given .. Im pretty sure 11 virgin wives and a whole bunch of wealth.
This hot-piece-of-Aztec-man would be Shiro. One of his wives being Allura whom he actually falls in love with and tries to be at her side more so than his others.

There, of course, are different levels or classes of wealth in an empire And most of our lovely pace childs are placed there. (They’re going to be older in this AU, maybe around 20+.)

Lance, Hunk, Pidge, and Coran are pretty much right below Shiro.

Where’s Keith? Well he’s two classes down, having come from a poorer family.

In history, since the Aztecs were scared the sun would never rise, one day an eclipse appeared they were so scared during those short ..8.. Minutes they sacrificed probably more than half their population. Millions were killed (pretty sure. It’d help if I remembered things like numbers and names)

Let’s not forget the man on the throne only gets a year of his glory, and then he’s sacrificed. ;)
