An assassin is really just a serial killer who takes requests.
Excuse you, they take commissions
“hey man can you kill this guy?”
“alright that will be 10k”
“ugh cant you just do it for the exposure? whatever you suck at murder anyway”

GOOD SHIT

as it stands now, the one closest to figuring out that shiro is a clone is actually lance.
hear me out-
everyone else seems completely oblivious so far. maybe keith is slightly suspicious of the circumstances behind shiro returning –he spends a lot of time trying to reason his way through it– but he doesnt question that this is real shiro. even when shiro uncharacteristically and repeatedly shuts him down, he doesn’t ever stop to consider whether this is actually shiro. (keith thinks shiro’s criticism is his own fault, but that’s another topic entirely.)
lance has noticed something off about him from the beginning, even if he isn’t yet sure what it is.
otherwise, he would have gone to shiro with his insecurities in s3, not keith. keith even asks lance why he decided to go to him, specifically.

lance says, “well, i mean, you’re the leader now, right?” but idk, that doesnt really sound like an entirely convincing reason to me.
and then in the last episode- lance says they need to get out off of naxzela, but shiro shuts him down and it. pisses. lance. off. shiro dismissing lance puts voltron in danger- it puts the entire team in danger. when they get back in their lions he literally growls. he is that frustrated.

(lance_is_fuckin_pissed.png)
i think that’s the moment when lance realizes that shiro (regardless of whether he’s the real one or not) is not the right leader for voltron. keith would have listened to him. even though we haven’t had much of a chance to see keith really lead voltron, from what we have seen in s3 e5, he is much more responsive to the team’s input than shiro is. and now lance realizes that. now lance knows that shiro isn’t the right leader for the team- at least not right now.
i want him to side with keith. i want lance to start keeping a more critical eye on shiro. and over time, i want him to notice all the little things shiro/kuron does that don’t add up. i really want lance to be the first to figure out. and the way things have gone, i think he’s already starting to piece it together.
I’m still wiping the tears from my eyes

There was a discussion a few months ago about Lotor’s hands how they go from regular to having claws in some scenes. We see it again up close in season 4

In the scene where he wake up from being stunned, we see that his hands clearly don’t have any claw-like features. Specifically looking at his thumb. But in a next shot only seconds later, he suddenly has the sharp claws:

This can’t be an animation mistake since it’s happened before when they did close ups on his hands. My theory is that maybe, just like some animals, Lotor’s claws only show up when he feels threatened? I feel like it may be emotions that trigger this change or actually, it could be a conscious effort to make himself even more capable of defending himself if the situation comes to it.
We know Haggar has those claws but Alteans don’t have any sharp nails. But we see this in the 3rd episode:

Her hands are the only thing that seem to be consciously changed to have a Galran appearance. It seems to me that the claws are a signature Galran aspect of one’s appaerance and maybe Lotor is able to chameleon himself like his mother? Maybe the claw thing is a conscious change when the situation calls for it?
Idk, random after shower thoughts 😂
I have been wondering the exact same thing! It really struck me in this moment too, when Lotor is staring out at the rift after his plans have failed-

and then seconds later, after he’s experienced shock/distress and is mid-collapse, we have…

HOLY HECK I DIDNT NOTICE THAT PART, IM SHOOK
Keith’s expressions when Lance is in danger and he’s trying to save him.
(based on the beautiful art by @badenlily link here that is sooo beautiful - that you should all marvel at before you read this!! - and this thing I wrote is nowhere near worthy of it, but thank you so much for letting me write it!! This is set somewhere in season 4, I assume? i also posted this over on my ao3 here)

“It looks good on you,” Lance says, his elbow propped up against Red’s control panel, his chin held in his palm; looking at Keith in his video feed. “The hood, I mean, it makes you look all mysterious.”
“Hm,” Keith says, looking up from sharpening his blade; he blinks at him, then what Lance had said registers and his cheeks turn a soft pink. He reaches up and touches his hood, “Oh, thanks, Lance.” He hadn’t really thought about whether or not it looked good, he’d been more interested in the durability and practicality of his suit, and how/if the hood would help keep him disguised if he need it.
“The purple really brings out your eyes,” Lance says, settling into this, complimenting Keith with a hint of glee; his lips widening into an easy, possibly flirty grin. “It makes them pop.”
“Pop?” Keith repeats, raising an eyebrow. He sheaths his blade then, leaning closer to the screen to look at his own eyes and Lance looks at them too, they are really, really pretty eyes.
“Yup,” Lance says, not explaining further, “Pop.”
“Well, you look really good in your undersuit,” Keith says easily, without a hint of embarrassment at his incredibly embarrassing words. “It makes your shoulders look really broad.”
“W-what?” Lance stutters, his cheeks flushing; he can dish it out with ease, but can’t handle it when he gets it back in return. “Stop messing around, Keith!”
“I’m not,” Keith says back, indignant; confused by Lance’s refusal to accept his genuine compliment. “It looks good on you.”
