Any “purebred” is literally just inbred. And if you mix breed you’ll have a dog with far less issues
I guess @godzillaswaifu doesn’t know how breeding works.
Pugs are fucked up because they’re inbred and, on top of it, it’s a result of selective breeding.
Breeding them with other breeds can actually help rather than do harm. It adds more to the genetic pool, which can give the puppies longer snouts, smaller eyes, and longer legs.
And hey look, Retro Mops! Still being selectively bred, and purebred, but look! Longer legs, smaller eyes, longer snouts!
If anything, breeding dogs with other breeds should be encouraged as it helps rid of terrible mutations like that of which has affected pugs, bulldogs, ridgebacks, and dachshunds (for example). In fact, mixed breed dogs tend to be much healthier than purebreds.
