Marinette is a Beauty and Fashion guru that’s starting to get very popular, and she runs a gaming channel on the side for the fun of it. Alya is her editor and is in a lot of her videos for both channels, because those two in front of a camera is always a good time.
Adrien is still a model, but he vlogs a lot and people enjoy his and Ninos adventures and backstage runway drama. But to blowoff steam, he makes game videos, but doesn’t put his face in them because he wants people to watch for the games and fun of it and not for his face. Plus his dad wouldn’t approve and think its a waste of his time. So he hides behind the username Chat Noir.
Adrien and Marinette always collaborate on game videos and have become great friends, and all the viewers ship them so hard. Especially after Chat start to refer to her as “Princess” and “My Lady”.Marinette just laughs it off but Adrien gets so excited about it because he has had a crush on her from the start.
Thanks to her main channel, Marinette is taking part in a special event for people in the fashion industry that Mr. Agreste is in charge of. So of course she and Adrien meet in person, and Adrien is freaking out inside because she’s finally in front of him in the flesh and not on a screen. But Marinette doesn’t know its him, because she’s never seen his face.
Meanwhile Marinette doesn’t know what to do with herself. This handsome guy is lavishing all his attention on her, and Alya is no help at at all, because her devotion to getting her best friend to hook up with the male model has gotten them into more embarrassing situations then they care to admit. (though really it’s due to Mari’s own frazzled nerves and not listening to Alya the first time.)
Adrien dosen’t know how to tell her that they already know each other, not out of fear that she would use him like so many others, but out of the fear that Marinette would be dissapointed that he wasnt what she thought or that she would finally see all of who Adrien was and not like what she saw. So Adrien dosen’t tell her the truth but regrets it as soon as she leaves after the event.
Meanwhile the two are in each others vlogs from the event and all of Adriens viewers are gushing over how cute together they are, while their gameing fans are saying Marinette and Chat have way more chemistry. Viewers of both channels are extremely conflicted. ( Nino and Alya just fan the flames and have taken sides in the ship war.)
Things go back to the way they were, except Marinette is invited to more events and shows where she runs into Adrien often, who still can’t work up the courage to tell her. Which he keeps beating himself up over everytime.
Until that summer when there’s a convention and he and Marinette are asked if they would like to have a panel together. To which Marinette happily agrees, and she jokes that she’ll finally get to meet her friend in person. Which makes Adrien realize that if he agrees he not only has to reveal himself to Marinette but to EVERYONE and whatever else his father has to say to him afterwards.
Nino decides it’s time for some tough love and tells Adrien he has to make a choice once and for all. No more excuses, no more worrying about what everyone will have to say about him, that Adrien should think of himself and what he wants.
Knowing that Nino is right, Adrien agrees to do the panel.
On the day of, the room is packed and everyone in the audience is ready to see them in person, especially Chat. But he’s late. He saw Marientte walk in with Alya, her smile lighting up her sweet face and Adriens courage disapears. The panel has to start without him. Nino is backstage with him, alternating between giving a pep talk and threatening to push him up there himself.
That’s when someone asks about Chat and Adrien, and Marinette is blushing now. She says that she really likes Adrien and that he’s wonderful despite how weird he can get around her, and that Chat is one of her best friends, he could always make her smile with one message that just said hello, she talks about how much of a privilege it is to work with both of them and even more to call them her friends. They meant more to her then they could ever know.
That’s when Adrien knows he was afraid of nothing and walks out on stage, much to everyones surprise.
Marientte is flustered now, wondering if he heard her.
“What are you doing here, Adrien?”
That’s when he grabs the mic meant for him,“Same as you,My Lady. I’m the other panelist.“
That’s when everyone puts it together and starts gasping and screaming, because only Chat Noir talked like that and called her My Lady.
Marinettes face is bright red from her blushing. Silently cursing herself for never noticing how similar their voices were.
The rest of the panel was full of anarchy, most of the questions were about Adrien and why he hid all this time, to which he answered truthfully.
Afterwards, the two wandered the con together, their friends no where to be found. But they didn’t get a real moments peace until the day ended and they went out to get food. Marinette was still in disbelief, but Adrien was beaming. It felt so liberating not to hide anymore. His fathers opinion of the uproar he’d caused be damned.
After they had eaten the two hung out in the plaza that the resturant was located and just talked for what felt like forever. Despite her shock, Marinette had never seen Adrien grin so wide or heard Chats voice so lively. It warmed her heart so much.
That’s when he started to get a bit more nervous and revert back to the Adrien she had known. She started to worry her until he choked out, “Do you want to go out on a real date sometime?”
Marinettes started to giggle uncontrollably, so she nodded and hugged him. The moment was almost perfect. Until they heard heard someone cheer from the bushes behind them.
That’s when they found Nino and Alya with their cameras and yelling because it finally happened.
