Great now the creator of miraculous ladybug is making comments about the Fansubs. THINGS ARE ALWAYS LOST IN TRANSLATION. If someone Fansubs the French ep, it’s the same thing as someone fan subbing a Korean ep. The show is supposed to be a collab, not who is better. Tbh everyone should enjoy the show in whatever language they want, no dub is superior. Sure Korean is harder to translate bc it doesn’t use Roman script, but all the same it’s just as valid as the French ep. He should just not talk about this bc it makes me more peeved and not wanna watch it in french

Yeah, as the guy who wrote these scripts, I make comments about how my dialogues are translated. How dare I, right? ^^

French = original langage.

Official french to korean = direct translation, made by pros who know the backstory = few loss = good quality

Official French to english = direct translation, made by pros who know the backstory = few loss = good quality

Fansub french to korean to english = indirect translation, made by fans who don’t know the backstory = lot of loss = lower quality

All dubs and subs are not equal, I may add. Some choices must be made during translations, and some choices are better than others. On one hand, “Spots on” and “Claws out” are brilliant things US adaptator added. On the other hand, Russian fans got Supercat instead of Chat Noir, and Buburuza, instead of Ladybug, which apparently make the show sound very childish.
