going through some old pictures from this past year and found these gems…after the curtain closes the first act on the last show of nutcracker, it’s customary to dump ALL OF THE SNOW AT ONCE while the snowflakes are still on stage

here we can be seen making snow angels and just generally enjoying the last nutcracker of the season…when there are 27 of them and you do big party girl, snow, and flowers in every single one of them, this is the most liberating feeling in the world

it’s not just Ryan the happy snowflake here, it’s Ryan AND THE MANY HAPPY SNOWFLAKES

I know this was already mentioned (most probably) but for me personally, I would’ve loved if both Ben and Rey had gotten one of half of the destroyed Skywalker lightsaber in the Throne Room scene.

Fans already mentioned the lightsaber represented Kylo Ren’s/Ben’s heart.

Seeing him trying to get it back, knowing it would make Rey stay with him, so she wouldn’t leave him alone (again).

Rey resisted the temptation to join him, knowing she wanted to but that it was wrong. To join this new, uncertain “order”, something different and independent from the First Order and the Resistance, from the Jedi and the Sith, something they could build up from scratch without years of bloodshed and wars behind it.

I imagined it like this:

During the shockwave created from the lightsaber breaking, one half would go to Kylo and the other to Rey, she would maybe try to look for the other half too, but had no choice but to flee. Kylo would wake up with one half of his uncle’s lightsaber next to him.

I think the last scene between them in The Last Jedi, where Rey closed the door on him as the Resistance fled and Ben held his father’s lucky dice in his hand, kneeling brokenly on the floor, would’ve been even better (emotionally impactful) if the two broken halves were present.

If either Kylo held one half in his other hand along with the dice or Rey had one half strapped to her belt or clutched in her hand, just so that both halves were visible on-screen, yet clearly shown separated but out of reach.

Showing how both parts of something whole were on opposing sides, separated.

Imagine if then, in Ep. IX, it would show them going about their daily routines, Kylo running his empire as Supreme Leader, Rey trying to offer support to a weakened Resistance and train and develop on her own to grow.

Their Force bond wasn’t broken, but none of them tried contacting each-other actively, they still felt the connection, but both were too conflicted/wounded to take the first step.

They do eventually when, during nighttime when both are alone with their thoughts and emotions, the halves of Luke’s lightsaber vibrate/hum with energy, opening up the bond and finally, they see each-other after long months of pause.

Rey, sitting on her bed with her legs crossed, hair down, looking vulnerable, maybe a little lost.

And Ben, trying to meditate, the conflict and pain clear on his face and body language, there were also new bruises/cuts on his bare chest, perhaps from training, maybe from assassination attempts.

They just take each-other in, their physical appearances, their emotional states.

When Kylo tries to gently reach out to her through the Force, Rey hesitantly allowed him, in turn probing his own mind, his own conflicts, fears, challenges he had faced with his new role as Supreme Leader.

Her grief of the disappearance and presumed passing of Luke, Leia’s own wavering strength, the Resistance’s general state, but also her own inner conflict about the light and dark sides of the Force and her own powers and place in the world.

They just stare at each-other for a while, Rey seeing the same soft, open expression on his face like back in the cave.

They start to experience the same feeling like they had back then.

Compassion.

Understanding.

To belong.

Ben would slowly extend his hand holding the broken half of his uncle’s lightsaber towards Rey, she would do the same with her own piece.

It would connect, it was still broken, it still had cuts and tears, but it felt whole.

Just like them.

Maybe this was the key to balance.

Light and Dark.

The Scavenger from Jakku and the Heir of Darth Vader.

Rey and Kylo Ren.

Rey and Ben.
