Well we’re not sure per say but there is a girl wearing a bee-suit in the Zagtoon’s Happy Birthday MIFA image which I think where the theory mainly spawns from. The image has LB with the hair…things which was an older concept so the bee girl, whoever she is, is likely an older design as well but it still is something. Also a bee would make sense within the universe since there are two other insect Kwamis already. Of course for all we know right now, the yellow kwami/miraculous could be themed after a giraffe or some other mainly-yellow animal.

artists friends problems
@dyinglikeicarus an me. This is our friendship. (Also @shurakaramzin)
@sahaoot ♥
Writers totally do the same thing. (Paging @codango )
The key to this creative-friend problem is to fight about what each is better at specifically. It makes for more interesting angry-complimenting.
“You are good at Thing!”
“Oh yeah?? Well, you are good at Other Thing!”
“Ooooooo, well, YOU –”
This is a scene from the Disney movie, The Road to El Dorado, which came out in 2000. This movie is about two friends from Spain who embark to the New World aboard Hernan Cortes’ ship in search of the fabled city of gold, El Dorado. This scene is a song and dance number where the two friends play up the fact that they were mistaken for gods by the indigenous people of Mexico. I chose this because like the Native Americans, Latin America had their own native peoples for centuries before Europeans landed and took over their land. I understand this movie is for children and they wouldn’t necessarily grasp the truths of what really happened when the Europeans came over but the story of the them landing and being mistaken for gods and this kind of glorious revelation of the white man side-by-side with natives and eventually coming together as friends is pretty much a lie but the exact picture that we are always taught when learning about this. Indigenous people of Latin America were and are still treated as second class citizens. Movies like this really stereotype native peoples as barbarians that only reach their potentials when Europeans step in and teach them the proper ways of being.

Sorry but did you even bother to actually watch the movie? There are no racist or white supremacist implications in it, at all. Cortés isn’t even portrayed in slither of positive light. Miguel and Tulio also block the entrance way to El Dorado so that the expedition can’t go inside and destroy their city.
People need to stop finding “controversial” themes in animated films that were created with innocent intentions. It’s DREAMWORKS for goodness sake, i’m pretty sure they know what and what isn’t acceptable.
The fact that the OP didn’t even know what studio produced the film shows their lack of knowledge in itself. Also, referring to the last line - Miguel and Tulio are shown, right at the start of the movie, that they’re not “civil” at all (at least in the society they live in); they’re conmen, and they hardly teach the natives of El Dorado anything! In fact, during the song “Without Question”, I’m pretty sure the film is trying to show how much Miguel learnt from the natives, not the other way round.
Yes, the whole “white men as gods” concept and even the sexualisation/exoticizing of Chel are wrong, but some of the points this person brings up are a bit far-fetched.
Exactly.
Not to mention Chief Tanni knew they were frauds from the beginning, and only let them get away with it A) to piss off Tzekel-Kan and B) because they actually helped Chief Tanni overthrow some of Tzekel-Kan’s gross traditions - in other words, they helped him do what was best for his people without ruining the delicate political balance between religion and governance. You bet your ass if they’d turned out to be true evil, Chief Tanni would never have allowed them to keep up the ruse. Plus, he probably just had fun planning parties and junk. You can’t tell me that man didn’t enjoy getting to dance around with his granddaughters.
