He runs a hand over his face and then pushes his wild hair back from his forehead and makes his way toward his bedroom door. Through half-lidded eyes, he watches his hand reach for the doorknob, and then, like the floor has given out from under his feet, his stomach lurches when his eyes skirt over his naked third finger.

Alarm punches him in the gut, shoots ice into his veins like a needle. As if in disbelief, Adrien raises his arm out in front of him and flips his hand over and over and over, trying to figure out if he’s going crazy or if his ring really isn’t there.

“What?” he says out loud, absolutely and entirely dumbfounded as his heart pounds in a sudden, intense bout of anxiety. What he is seeing doesn’t make any sense. It was always there - he always wore his ring. He touches his hand, that third finger, with a blinding sense of numbness and shock.

It occurs to me that maybe people think Hawkmoth is Gabriel’s secret twin brother because a large part of the fandom just migrated in after Gravity Falls ended.

In Gravity Falls the twin theory makes sense and fits to the point it doesn’t feel at all like a cliché.

In Ladybug this would literally be something we call pulled out of a butthole twist. It doesn’t fit and doesn’t make sense, and would feel too soap opera cliché.

It doesn’t work.

Not EVERY good cartoon needs a twin conspiracy.
