(This probably already exists somewhere but this is something I want to read either a comic or fic of.)
So another akuma beaten and another failed flirting attempt to get ladybug. Adrien is bummed out. He is lying in his bed wondering why he can’t just tell her how he feels.
Plagg says something about how humans overcomplicate everything and should just stick to cheese.
Adrien ignores the kwami and feels himself getting hungry. Since he had a sweet tooth craving he decides to hit up a bakery. Not wanting to get caught by Nathalie, he transforms into chat and sneaks off to the Dupain bakery.
Meanwhile, Marinette is watching the bakery for a bit while her parents go out to dinner with some friends. She is about to close up shop when a certain cat walks into the bakery. She is surprised and asked what he is doing here. He smirks and said.
“I was in the mood for something sweet. Anything good, besides you princess?”
Marinette sighs at the flirt and gives the cat some macaroons and cookies. The kitty loves them.
Since there were no other customers, Marinette decides to close the shop as Chat noir is chowing down.
“You must have been hungry.” Marinette teases.
“I skipped lunch because of today’s akuma. It didn’t hit me till now. So how is life Princess?”
The two start talking. Marinette gets a bit more comfortable, and chat is already comfortable with the Girl since she fed him. Trying to think of ideas for topics he casually asks.
“Do you like anybody?”
Marinette tries (and fails) to lie to the cat. But Chat noir knew he caught her.
“You must really like this guy. You are as red as a ladybug.” He laughs.
Marinette calms herself a bit and asks.
“Oh, and what about you alley cat? Anyone special in your life?” Trying to turn the tables.
“The only one for me is Ladybug.” Chat noir says with a loving sigh.
Marinette looks at him in a bit more surprised by how easily he said it.
“Wow… I mean it isn’t surprising, but do you know who she is under the mask? Do you know what she is like in real life.”
Chat frowns, but quickly recovers. Saying that the time will come one day when she lets him. He is willing to wait.
Marinette listens to him go on for a while about Ladybug. There was no doubt how in love with her he was. Marinette always dismissed his flirts and actions as either a loyal friend, a flirty, or a small crush. But it was so apparent how he felt.
“You really do love her huh.” Marinette says a bit saddened. Feeling bad that she was aware of his feelings yet in love with someone else.
“Yes” Chat noir says 100% clear on it. Then he feels himself shake. “But…”
“But?”
“Everything I do to show her and or tell her. It never works out. Contrary to what you might think, I really am awful at this.” He laughs hollowly.
Marinette feeling the cat’s pain on the matter. She knows all to well how that feels with Adrien.
“Its okay, I can definitely relate. Every time I try to tell the guy I like how I feel, I mess up. When it comes to love, I am a total klutz.” Marinette states to cheer up the cat.
Chat noir then feels an Idea pop into his head.
“Princess, I think I thought of the perfect way for us to get us both out of this funk we are in.”
Marinette is curious by the prospect. Decides to hear the cat out.
Chat noir says that they should practice with each other. That way they could know what to say and do when dealing with their loves.
Marinette is absolutely against it at first. But chat noir assures her that it was the best way to handle their dilemma. Who better to help ask a girl out then a girl. Who better to help get a guy’s attention then a guy.
After a ton of coaxing, Marinette caves. Thinking she has got nothing to lose. Even thinking it was a way of giving him a chance, without putting their partnership at risk.
(And of course shenanigans ensues)
