I just wanted to say that… I don’t think our fandom is toxic. 

I just think there are a handful of people who don’t care about the fandom, and perhaps even the show, and they just want attention so they steal things and are rude. They won’t respond to us asking them to stop because they really just don’t care about our community. (Of course there are reposters who just don’t know that it’s a wrong thing to do, but that’s not their fault, they just haven’t learned yet.)

But from what I’ve seen, I think 95% of this fandom is full of amazing friendly people and we shouldn’t get down because of the other people who like to ruin things. 

We can still have fun and be positive together. <3

I wouldn’t let a few dumb people ruin my love for this show. 

With that being said, remember to respect the wishes of the artists or creators.  This applies to art, characters, videos and audio.  If the person asks you not to repost, don’t do it. Reblog. It’ll look the exact same.  When it comes to websites like twitter, instagram or Facebook, REFRAIN from repositing works. 

“But I really wanna show others this artwork”

Cool, refer them back to the blog where it’s posted. They can see it there. 

“But I want to gain followers and post interesting things.”

Create original content! You may not believe it, but you are talented! If you can’t draw, make videos! If you can’t make videos, create cosplays. If you can’t make cosplays, create inspired music. If you can’t create music, make photo collages or manipulations of screenshots from your favorite show. There are other options, and people will appreciate what you can really do.

“If you didn’t want you artwork to get reposted then you shouldn’t have put it online.”

False. That’s like saying “if you didn’t want people to rip your clothes off then you shouldn’t have put them on in the first place.”

Just respect others and cultivate kindness and everyone’s life will be easier.

There’s actually a whole point about this in these Harry Potter analysis books I used to read obsessively. Two of their cardinal rules of HP foreshadowing are “Hermione is always right, except when she’s emotional” and “Ron is always wrong, except when he’s joking”. This actually plays out pretty frequently in the series if you look for it!
