I just saw Freeze Day (episode 17 of Star vs the Forces of Evil), and I’ve got a lot of feels.

I know I overthink these shows, but in this case it’s not thinking - it’s just unbidden feelings.

In Freeze Day, Star and Marco spend 60 hours together laughing and having literally the best time of their lives. Okay, maybe Marco’s exaggerating a bit, but still… It’s just so rare to have someone like that. I couldn’t help thinking that the only reason they work as friends is because they’re both in love with someone else. Okay, they both have superficial crushes on someone else.

And then Freeze Day reveals that Marco has had his crush on Jackie Lynn Thomas for many years, and in fact it’s his first crush. That’s not something he’s going to be able to let go of so easily (I know). But Star? She has at least one ex and her crush is as superficial as they come. It just really hit me because I know where this leads. Star’s going to get over her crush first and then it’s going to be kind of really painful to be around her best friend Marco.

I mean, I don’t know that, because it’s a fictional story and I don’t think the writers would go there necessarily. I’m just saying that I “know” where this leads in a gut feeling sense of how things would play out in my experience IRL. Not in a cerebral sense.

Can you really just be only best friends when you’re perfect for each other? Cradle-to-grave perfect for each other?

yeah 60 hours is a lot of time to spend with someone, I mean A LOT. if I had spent time like that with my best friend, I’d probably will fall for her. because if you look around they’re the only ones around and for that moment they feel invincible. not individually as a person, but together. they feel like it’s them against the world doing the most stupidest shit.

but Jackie, he has never talk to her. yeah maybe she’s good to look at but sometimes you need to know that people aren’t what they seem. she’s hot, I get it. but if he never talked to her how will he know that they’re right for each other? so eventually he’s gonna come around if they ever date that she’s not what he thought she was. it’s gonna break his heart and gonna take a while for him to get used to it I guess you can say because the only person he has ever had a crush on is really different to him since he always thought she was the most perfect girl ever.

so yeah I agree on everything that you said I was just adding stuff on there like the little piece of shit I am. they ARE perfect for each other. -cocky

Maybe, just maybe, I’m reading too much into it, but if IMDB doesn’t lie and the titles are anything to go by, season 2 will probably begin with 22-minutes plot heavy episode, and the second episode will be about someone’s birthday (Marco’s package?) AND maybe an episode about Jackie, since it has “skate” in the title? Plot and character progression right there, at the very beginning of the season?

Or the titles are completely misleading and “Unhappy Birthday” will be about Ferguson’s party, and “Sink or Skate” about Marco learning to ice skate on a melting ring.
