BUT HE ABSOLUTELY DID. HE HAS CAT-SENSITIVE HEARING; HE COULD HEAR HER BREATH, THE FRICTION OF HER HAND TOUCHING THE DOOR AND WHEN SHE TAKES HER HAND OFF, AND WHEN SHE GOES TO LEAVE. POSSIBLY EVEN WHEN SHE PRESSES HER FOREHEAD AGAINST THE DOOR.

HE KNOWS EVERY SINGLE THING SHE DID ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THAT DOOR, AND RECIPROCATES IT PERFECTLY AND LONGINGLY; HE PRESSES HIS HAND TO HERS, HIS FOREHEAD, AND WAITS THERE UNTIL SHE STEPS AWAY. HE WOULD’VE KEPT COMFORTING HER FOR AS LONG AS SHE NEEDS OR WANTS.

AND HONESTLY, THAT SHIT HITS HARDER THAN THEM JUST “HAPPENING TO DO IT AT THE SAME TIME.” HE WANTS TO COMFORT HER SO BADLY, BUT HE KNOWS SHE WON’T ACCEPT IT UP FRONT, AND NOT WHEN HE’S CHAT NOIR, THE ONLY TIME HE’S CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO BE HER PARTNER.
