HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Glaciator, Weredad, Evillustrator, Gamer proved that Marinette doesnt have a problem with constantly casually touching Chat and she is pretty much responsive and reciprocates it too (the cuddle hug in Glaciator).
So for me platonic touches and cuddles are a more thing between them now after Weredad has stablished them as friends.
I always wanted to try and make an animated illustration and since this piece was stuck in my head for over a week, I figured it would be a good excuse to actually attempt it.And mess around in Clip Studio Paint’s animation options before the trial expires.
Not sure if successful, but I am a sucker for cozy/platonic marichat anyway so…
Pretty happy with the result so far.
Non-animated version below!!!

I found this mural in Tucson, Arizona. It’s called “Vergiss”, and it was done by an artist called Fin DAC.
I think it looks a lot like Marinette DuPain-Cheng 🐞✨

More draw the squad doodles because I love all of these dorks so much. 😊
I’m gonna throw some shade at ml because Marinette’s hair is not a natural black. I get that they’re giving it more life to her hair by giving her blue highlights but come on. In certain lighting it either works or it doesn’t. It’s a hit or miss situation

Here it looks pretty neutral. Not too bad but not the best either.

Look at the hair. It’s awful. It’s an dusty lifeless blue, like what is that?

Here, this is where it looks the best. Her hair is dark and it almost looks black with some touches of blue. That’s ideal because Marinette is half Chinese
It’s all dependent on the lighting but when lighting doesn’t favor her hair god it’s bad. Even the concept art and the early renders had better results than this
Now here’s how you do black hair

Look at this precious bean. Here we have a good example how to do natural black hair. Sometimes the lighting does make Jim’s hair more brown but that’s just the lighting especially when dealing with outdoor scenes and sunsets

But when you put him next to an actual brown hair person, it’s more noticeable that his hair is more dark than Claire’s is. She has more reds in her hair
