MY RANT ABOUT VLD S8

alright boys and girls, sit down, buckle up, cuz i’m mad as fuck about season 8 and i have no one to rant about it to.

the plot was a mess, i’m not even joking. i sat there when i was watching it, and i was so confused. like what was the point of the olkari episode? can anyone literally tell me? i feel like it could’ve been taken out and there wouldn’t have been a single change to the plot.
lance’s personality. alright. so i’m a lance stan, right? and they did him so dirty this season, i’m so disappointed. they never ended up explaining lance’s death AND his bayard. they literally never went into it, and fucking worst of all, all he was was just a side character for allura. his only purpose in this season was for allurance, and that’s the fucking tea.
and alright, speaking of allurance, what was the point. they hardly built up the romance, and how was it a “slow burn”??? i wish i understood, because allura ends up dying/sacrificing herself anyways, so what was the point of building up the ship.
what was the point of lotor?? like with the whole allura dream sequence thing, i don’t get it. why would allura listen to him? he literally stabbed the team’s back.
okay i’m sorry but i’m going back on lance’s personality again. i’m so frustrated with the inconsistencies of literally all of his actions. i’m sorry. i’m just. i can’t.
OH AND LITERALLY WHAT WAS UP WITH ALTEAN LANCE.
what the fuck. it was like so out of place and SO last minute, i just don’t understand why they put it in. like i mean yeah, i guess it’s kind of cool the creators did that, but what was the point. how is this possible? someone please tell me because all allura did was kiss lance and whoaaaa now he’s altean? i don’t get it.
honerva got a better arc than lance.
allura’s sacrifice. this got me pretty close to crying, and i’m not a cryer. i’m so frustrated, what even. sure it was noble i guess but what was the fucking point if she had resurrected altea and she won’t ever be able to see it? she hasn’t seen altea in god knows how long, and she’ll never see her home planet. ever.
klance. so, yeah shoot me for liking klance and the whole enemies to lovers trope, but literally. they never got into why they were rivals ever really?? they never address it again, and i honest to god really think that the only reason why klance wasn’t canon king was because of the fandom’s disgusting black mail whole situation. alright goodnight.
