“Princess,” he says softly, voice just a rumble in his chest. She feels it all the way to the very tips of her toes. Her belly clenches with a hot, yearning ache. “There are a million reasons why you shouldn’t have come here.”
She tilts her head back against the wall, arching slightly to give him a better view of her cleavage, a thrill of satisfaction singing through her blood when he looks and his expression darkens even more.
“You’ve heard the rumors about me, haven’t you, Your Grace?” She reaches for the hand that rests behind his neck and pulls it toward her slowly, the air between them heavy like the static moment before an explosion. “Nothing safe is worth it.” She tugs her skirt up further with one hand and continues to guide his with her other until his warm palm is pressed flush against the top of her thigh.
