To all the people who complain about how passive Adrien is: he is an abuse victim. Of course he’s passive. Yes, his passivity causes problems for his friends, especially Marinette, but it is a survival mechanism he’s developed thanks to being raised by a literal terrorist.
That’s not to say Marinette doesn’t deserve better—she super fucking does, some from Adrien but especially from Alya—or that she hasn’t been MASSIVELY negatively impacted by his reactions, because she has; but blaming Adrien for acting the way he does is not going to help. He needs a psychologist, and he needs to get out of that house. He won’t have the opportunity to grow if his father’s thumb keeps pushing him down.
In short: if you don’t like the way Adrien acts, blame Gabriel.
