“What Does the Fox Say?”
… No really, what does the fox say, Zag? ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)
It has been weeks. Weeks, I say. (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)
Not like I’m trying to sound impatient or anything but, it feels really weird looking at the current kwami squad now and seeing that the team is still inomplete. All that’s missing is the fox kwami and I’m surprised that up til this point, no word on their design as yet. The bee and the peacock were revealed almost back to back. And now I feel like Zag is torturing us kwami artists by making us wait for the final fox design. Saving the best for last I guess.
So inspired by that; I squiggled this together for this week’s new K-Squad art. In an odd way, I wanted to depict what it would be like for the other kwamis having to wait for the last member of their little family to finally reveal his or herself (my money’s on the fox kwami being female but you never know. Might get a surprise for the second season. Who knows). An excuse to execute this idea while trying out a new brush and colouring technique in Sai (needs polishing though). In my head, I imagined it would be a depressing yet really tender moment that justifies the strong bond between the kwamis. For me, I look at the kwamis as more than just the guardians of the miraculous but also a unit. Sure, they all got their respective chosen wielders; some nice than others, for sure. But at the end of the day, the kwamis are, like I said, a unit. A team. A family. A squad. So I’d imagine it’d be tough if the gang’s all there except for the one missing piece of the puzzle to make their circle complete, y’know?
So for today’s piece, have a tender loving K-squad huddled together around the Fox Miraculous, waiting patiently for the day when they can alas be reunited with their foxy friend. I too, await the day when I can finally illustrate that moment in my style. Until then, enjoy the new art everyone. Hope you guys like it and until the next squiggle art, stay tune for more star kids.
