Hey so what if Marinette gets akumatized, not because of Adrien rejecting her, Lilia lying, or Cloe; but because she finds out that Gabriel treats Adrien like that. Imgine Hawkmoth akumatizing Marinette over his bad parenting, like one day as Ladybug she sees how Adrien is neglected. And instead of being angry then and there, she dewells on that feeling. Hawkmoth akumatizes her, not knowing why she is angry, like, “Such anger! Perfect prey for my precious akumas. Go forth and evilize her!” Fast forward to the akuma taking control.

“Hello (Insert Villian Name Here) I can feel your anger and I can give you the power to take revenge on those you seek, but first get me the miraculous of Ladybug and Chat Noir!” Hawkmoth wouldn’t realize he sent one of his most dangerous and harder to control akumas to his front door.

Idk just a thought.

Marinette: I just don’t get boys. 

Hawkmoth: Marinette? Again? How did you even get this akuma? You’re meant to be at school and this akuma was practically in the catacombs

Marinette: Free study period. Now this bloody boy. Like I’m talking to him, show interest, he constantly randomly touches me, and we have the same interests then, Hawky listen because you won’t believe it, then he comes to me with his relationship troubles. To talk to me about a girl he likes and asking out this other girl. See’s no issue with me going with him and inviting another guy. Fine, whatever, he’s not interested. But then, Hawky are you listening? Then he spends the whole time showing me attention. Making sure I’m ok. Practically ignoring the girl he invited. I’m a bit upset, go to the bathroom, and rather than staying with the ice queen he comes after me. And he still just sees me as a friend!! What is up with guys?!

Hawkmoth: If I akumatise this guy for revenge or get someone to play cupid will you leave me alone?

Marinette: ….Nah. Seriously, who taught that guy how to interact with people?

Hawkmoth: Who is the kid anyway? Sounds thicker than eight bricks

Marinette: Adrien Agreste. He’s in my class and translated for me when my uncle visited. Just really sweet. Did I tell you we slow danced once and nearly kissed for a movie?

Hawkmoth: Adrien?

Marinette: Yes, I think the parental neglect is doing a number. Like his father forgets his birthday and is never around, then I make this amazing handmade scarf, light blue, suits him perfectly, then his father takes the credit! Sure his father has a great eye for fashion - up until recently - but he is the world’s worst father. Sorry, he would have to be around to be a father. 

Hawkmoth: I’m sure he’s not that bad

Marinette: He is. Just cold. Thanks for listening Hawky. Also what do you think about Paris in Romeo and Juliet, have to read it for school? I actually like him. He’s loyal, truly love Juliet, and seems sweet. Not like Romeo who drops one girl when she’s not interested then goes to Juliet when she looks at him. 2 days later is dead. Seriously, Team Paris all the way!

Hawkmoth: I think that’s the point of the play. That despite presenting itself as a love story it’s more a warning about teenage infatuation alongside the…..I am not writing your essay for you.

Marinette: Fine. By the way if you liked Nine Nine and Good Place, try Parks and Rec as producer by same guy. I’m also getting really into Superstore but it’s not on Netflix

Hawkmoth: I tried watching…Marinette?

Marinette: ……yes?

Hawkmoth: Stop grabbing or chasing my akumas. I have work to do

Marinette: Or, hear me out, you stop sending akumas and we just meet up for coffee?

Hawkmoth: That’s it. I’m going to start retracting akumas. Only send them adult-only places. To areas far away from you. 

Marinette: Good luck with that Hawky.

An Adrinette fic where they start dating but instead of Marinette being harassed by the press and jealous fans, the paparazzi are all too intimidated by Nadya to harass her favorite babysitter, and Adrien’s fans decide that Marinette is the cutest thing ever, fall in love with her Princess Di-style, and form a vigilante Marinette Defense Fan Squad that follows her around and she’s constantly having to give them the slip to transform. And then one day she confronts Adrien and says “You need to do something about your fans” and he says “but they love you” and she says “yeah but they won’t leave me alone and I can’t tell you why but that’s really inconvenient” and then he says “well I can’t tell you why but it’s better for the entire city if they’re following you as opposed to following me.” To which Marinette says, “Think again, pal.” And that eventually leads to a post-dating reveal.

Adrien starts doubting his abilities as Chat noir. Believing he is becoming more and more of a hinderence to Ladybug.

Adrien deciding that Ladybug needs a better partner. He leaves Plagg with Master fu. Plagg is of course very unhappy about it.

Later on,

Ladybug wondering where the hell Chat noir is during an akuma attack. Has to leave the akuma be until she can find him. She goes to master fu.

Fu tells her he gave up the miraculous.  She felt angry, betrayed, hurt, and she missed him above everything else. Fu explaining to her Chat noir’s reasoning. Ladybug of course didn’t see it that way. Not even in the slightest. She knew how much Chat noir helped. She needed her partner back. But she had no idea who he was.

Fu told her to pick someone temporary for the cat miraculous until he could convince the original to come back.

Ladybug mentally cycled through her list of friends. She knew exactly who to pick.

Adrien Agreste watching Tv to get his mind off being a hero. Having to flip channels to avoid akuma news. When suddenly Ladybug shows up.

Adrien is surprised, wonder why she is here.

Ladybug starts getting a bit flustered but explained that there was a situation with Chat noir, and that until he comes back, she needs a chat noir.

Adrien tries to reject it, saying that he isn’t meant to be a hero, and how there are so many other people in Paris more qualified.

Ladybug takes his hand.

“Excluding My Chat noir, I cant think of anyone better to use the ring.”

Her words cut him like a knife. He concedes, and agrees to do it. He transforms into Chat noir.

Ladybug is floored. He looks Exactly Like Chat noir.

He smiles at her.

“Shall we go Ladybug?” Chat noir asks very calmly.

So Ladybug is still surprised by all of this. Especially with how exactly perfect Adrien is for the look and role Chat noir. He even fights like him. Only the attitude is different.

After the fight, Adrien takes off the ring.

“I believe you need this back.”

Ladybug looked nervous, could it be that he is Chat noir?

Plagg popped out.

“No!”

Clings to adrien’s face.

“Forget what Tikki said! I am not being abandoned twice by the same chosen.”

Adrien is like ‘Oh no’ looking at ladybug.

Ladybug is frozen. Did he just say same chosen?

Adrien tries to come up with some excuse before just stopping. He confesses he is Chat noir.

Ladybug looks up at him. She looks hurt.

“Why did you abandon me?!”

This wasn’t about his identity. This wasn’t about Chat noir being Adrien Agreste, this was about her Chat noir leaving without saying good bye.

Adrien confessing to everything. His insecurity, his reasoning, and how he wanted her to have a better partner. He also apologizes about his reveal.

Ladybug hearing this out and then telling him he is wrong. How he is an amazing partner. How she has been saved so many times by him. How she needs him.

“You stupid cat! Don’t you know how important you are to me!”

Ladybug wiping her eyes to avoid tears. Adrien apologizing for everything, and if she wants him to be Chat noir, he will be.

Adrien then jokes that now that she knows his identity, it might get dangerous. So she should avoid sharing hers, despite how much he wants to know.

Ladybug agrees but forgot that her transformation time was up. And reveals to be Marinette.
