Earth and it’s Moon was Pink Diamond’s First – And Only – Colony

Let’s look at the Diamond Authority Murals. Each Diamond’s mural is dotted with the planets they have colonized and their moons. (Hmm… Is there are reason Blue Diamond doesn’t like mooned planets? It looks like Yellow Diamond prefers gas giants… And White Diamond seems to the eldest and most experienced colonist.)

Now let’s look at Pink Diamond’s mural on Luna.

One and only one planet: Earth. Pink Diamond was completely new at colonizing. Why? Was she new at being a Diamond all together? Was she stuck on Homeworld until now? Did she have another job? Either way, she had no interest in creating the hollowed-out colony her sisters expected her to.

Pink Diamond designed her Quartz Gems to be more organic and human-like than any Gems before. 

She also designed her Quartz Gems to create organic life with Gem-like qualities.

She wasn’t going to make another colony for the Homeworld.

Pixi vs the currently unnamed Witch rival from this concept art. I have no idea what the Witch’s powers are so uh I call artistic freedom there. Anyway, working on this was a lot of fun but tedious! I’m slowly getting better with backgrounds I think. Used this and this as a reference.
