You know, at first I thought that Eclipsa and Solaria would never have a chance to talk about their family and the “monster carver” thing (because, like Eclipsa said, Solaria died when she was not much older than Moon when Comet died)
And we also know she didn’t have good memories of Solaria because of what she said when she used the spell which has no name. You know, when Eclipsa said herself that she promised to never use one of her mother’s spells for fear of turning into Solaria… that says a lot about her feelings towards her mom and also explains this action from when she realized her mother was there watching her.
But then a beautiful thing happened: they didn’t even need to talk about all that stuff.
Solaria accepted Meteora anyway because, besides all the things Solaria did when she was queen, she loved her daughter more than anything.
If Eclipsa is happy so is Solaria.
That is the reason why Solaria puts her own opinions aside and let her daughter live on knowing that she is happy for her.
She was a good mother? Questionable.
She was a good queen? No.
But she loved Eclipsa.
