Arrow got his scar from defending his best friend (or at least that was what the galra thought during that time, since he had no idea that Pix was his twin brother) from an official who tried to shoot the other. You see, the two cubs were both exhausted from their endless fighting in the arena, but the officials kept on pushing them, to the point that Pix fought back, “We can’t fight anymore! We’re exhausted!”
Of course, the one in charge aimed their weapon at Pix and took a shot, because, who wouldn’t be pissed if a cub talked back at you?
But before anyone can even breathe, Arrow went and took the hit, right on his left eye. So ever since then, Pix carried a very large amount of guilt (and maybe a bit of trauma) every time he caught a glimpse of the scar. He only looks at the right side of Arrow’s face when the two interact. it’s very subtle, so no one, not even Arrow, notices.
If only he didn’t make a move and talk back, maybe Arrow wouldn’t have gotten the scar. But, hey…what can you do?
