“Shay!”
They met in the middle, Hunk grunting as Shay hugged him tight and nearly lifted him off his feet. He wasn’t surprised - he was nearly doing the same to her.
“I missed you! I missed you all!” She cried, looking around, eyes bright with happiness. Hunk never let go, watching her with a wide grin.
“We missed you too.” Allura said with a smile, and the rest of the team crowded in for hugs and to hear stories.
“….I never knew the world could be as big as I have seen.” Shay said softly, as she and Hunk sat out on the planet’s hilltops, watching the stars go by in a purple sky.
“It’s amazing, isn’t it?” Hunk asked, rubbing his neck. “I mean, there’s so much and you’ve been where again and it’s just-”
“You are rambling, Hunk. It is ok.” Shay said, laughing softly and placing on hand on his arm. Hunk blinked, looking from her hand to her face.
“Oh. Sorry.” He said, and they laughed again. It was quiet, music drifting over from where the natives were holding a party. Hunk looked over, and gently took Shay’s hand, helping her stand.
“What are we doing?” She asked, as Hunk placed a hand on her waist. Gently, he started to sway.
“On Earth, it’s called dancing.” He explained quietly, moving his feet. “Follow me. It’s fun.” She did as he did, looking down with a small expression of concentration and amusement.
“This is fun!” Shay said after a few minutes, and Hunk laughed.
“Ready?” He asked, and she opened her mouth to ask if she was ready for what, when Hunk slowly opened his arms and took her hand, twirling her slowly to the odd music. She laughed, putting both her hands on his chest and swayed when he had finished.
“…Hunk?” She asked after a few more minutes of silent dancing.
“Yea?” He asked.
“Thank you.” She said, meeting his eyes and placing a large hand on his cheek. “For the dancing.”
“Of course.” He said, smiling at her and reveling in the glow of her eyes.
