(( Here’s a compilation of all the genderbends I’ve edited so far. :) After doing these, I went back to my “Disney Princes” and re-edited them slightly, so these are the new versions. (Yeah, I know the guys still look younger than the girls, sorry. XP lol) ))

What gives me hope

One thing I loved about the ending to Yuri on Ice (apart from the beautiful pair skate) is this

image

Yuuri is still wearing his ring.

Even after the Grand Prix Final ended, Yuuri is still wearing his ring.

Even weeks after that, after he moved to Russia to train and live with Victor, Yuuri is still wearing his ring.

If you ever needed proof that it’s an engagement ring and not a mere “good luck charm” then here it is, in all its canon glory.

And the promise to get married after Yuuri wins gold, still stands.

Has anyone done this yet? Yes? No? Maybe?

In any case : since I am obviously insane, I just zoomed in and translated the magazine interview with 15-year-old Victor back in the first episode, which is actually readable! It’s near impossible to go back into the tag and find out if anyone has done this before, so I apologize if I’m stepping on anyone’s toes.

It doesn’t really say much, but maybe it’d be useful for writing fics and character meta!

(Note : the interview itself partially copy-and-pasted content between the left and right pages—probably because it’s not meant to be read lol—-so you could find sentences from the left page finishing on the right page and vice versa, it’s a bit unconventional to patch up. I did my best, but your mileage may vary.)

[SCOOP : Victor Nikiforov, a holiday in St. Petersburg]

Exclusive interview!

During the World Junior Championships at the end of the last season, Victor Nikiforov smashed the world record with his scores. At 15 years old, he already displays a combination of undeniable skating skills and expressive artistry that could charm the entire audience. The eyes of the entire world are on him, not only that of his native Russia. Now, on a sunny afternoon in St. Petersburg, we visit the athlete’s home during the off-season.

Q : Thank you for your hard work in the previous season. Now that you’re in the off season, how are you spending your time?
A : (in a casual speech pattern) I’m mostly relaxing. Taking walks with Makkachin (pictured above, poodle), going to the movies and stuff. I didn’t really get a lot of time to myself until last month, after all.

Q : Makkachin is quite a big dog.
A : He’s a standard poodle, I’ve had him for three years now. He’s always sleeping, so maybe that’s why he’s grown so big. Oh, and he’s always sneaking off with food, too, so I guess that’s part of it. He tries to be stealthy so I wouldn’t notice him, but that doesn’t always go so well [the rest of the answer is cut off—also I don’t know if Makkachin is male or female, but I’m just going with ‘he’ for flow here. It’d feel weird if Victor uses ‘they’ while talking about his dog, and I don’t think he’d use ‘it’.]

Onto the next season

Q : [Asks something with partial kanjis that look like it could be about ‘next year’]
A : [Says something about the Senior Championships, then the answer cuts off and this is what we see of his answer next] I think it’s a blessing that I’ve been skating since I was a child and it’s still fun to me to this day, and it’d be wonderful if I could keep on feeling like this. As of my program last month, I think I’ve gotten a steady performance on the technical front. And on the artistic side, I think it’d be fun if I could discover more sides of myself. And if I could continue that, it’d have its own natural results [the rest of the answer is cut off]

Q : [most of the question is not visible, but it looks suspiciously like a partial ‘Please say something to your fans at the end of our interview’]
A : Thank you for always supporting me. I’d like to enchant you with new sides of me from now on, too. See you in the next season!

As a side note, 15-year-old Victor used ‘boku’ as his pronoun in this interview.
