Ohh, sorry.
i live here

This is the poster of the first movie, carved, on Stoick’s statue.
I swear I died
[EDIT] it’s been confirmed by Dean that she is in fact officially a different species of Fury, and is not the last of her kind unlike Toothless. I’m not removing this post or anything though, because it’s still relevant [END EDIT]
I’m not saying this just to say it
I’m saying this because I wholeheartedly believe it to be true
and here’s why
first; the official synopsis says this:
As Hiccup fulfills his dream of creating a peaceful dragon utopia, Toothless’ discovery of an untamed, elusive mate draws the Night Fury away. When danger mounts at home and Hiccup’s reign as village chief is tested, both dragon and rider must make impossible decisions to save their kind.
Nowhere does it say she’s a female Night Fury. It just says she’s a mate. Plus, the first ever bit of real info we got (or at least that most of us saw) said that a love interest for Toothless would be introduced as a “white Fury-breed”. Again, not a Night Fury. A Fury breed. A subspecies.
I never expected her to look like Toothless, because that’s not what we were told.
If she was going to be a female Night Fury she’d look like Toothless. But she doesn’t. At all. She’s smooth, soft, doesn’t have any sharp or pointed edges. She has fins, humps. She looks like a whale. (Specifically a Beluga whale, one of my favorite animals)
How can you look at her and think “Night Fury”. Look at her.

Does this look like a Night Fury to you???? NO. And yeah, I get that that’s why so many of you people are angry or whatever, but you’re missing the point. People are angry because they THINK she’s a Night Fury when she most likely isn’t.
Second; if she was a Night Fury, but albino, she’d (presumably) have red eyes. Because that’s how albinism works. Red eyes, no color pigmentation. But her eyes are blue. Also, her skin is sparkly, not because “””she’s a girl””” but because she’s probably not supposed to be able to hide in the night sky.
She’s white, sparkly, smooth, and looks like a whale. Her tail fins look like actual fins. Her arms (and legs I believe?) have the same kind of bump as her back. Her ears and claws and smaller, and she’s just slightly more…compact, I guess is a good enough way to put it.
She probably looks the way she does because she’s likely a dragon who spends time in water, or maybe snow or something. When you’re in water and you look up, it looks bright and sparkly because of the sunlight shining on the water. If you were a fish or turtle or whatever prey animal and you looked up and saw her, you wouldn’t see her, because she’d be camouflaged by the light. And if she was in the snow she’d blend right in, because snow is smooth and sparkly and white, like her. And when the sun is bright on a beach the sand can often be dazzling, and sand is typically pretty light in color, because of sun bleaching, so she could probably blend in pretty well just on a beach too.
Third; Toothless’ displays didn’t work.

They didn’t do anything for the Light Fury. All they did was confuse her.
And get Toothless bapped on the nose.
You could argue that this was just to make the scene funny…and yeah, the scene was really funny. The noises for that last display are hilarious. I love it.
But also, I don’t think Toothless is doing anything wrong here…well, maybe aside from the uh, penguin walk. That just looks like he’s trying to be a Big Man. Regardless, like I said, I don’t think he’s doing anything wrong. Animals that have mating displays or rituals usually know them instinctively. Toothless is probably just doing what his instincts tell him to do, more or less. And he certainly must have seen other Night Furies doing these and/or other dances before they were all, like, hunted by Dudeman McFuck. Maybe Toothless even did them once or twice before, I dunno.
But the reason they just confuse the Light Fury could be because the displays are meant for Night Furies, not her. Toothless understands that she’s a Fury, but not that she’s a different type of Fury. Her species of Fury probably has other displays that are completely different, so she might not know what the ever loving heck this boy is doing at her.
So yeah, those are my three most solid points on why I think the Light Fury is a totally different subspecies of Fury.
Stormfly dies so Astrid gets the Light Fury and we have like the perfect mirror image.

I…I just made myself sad c’:

I love Old Astrid’s Hairstyle so much… Like really. You can’t imagine how much I’m in love with her final design.
