2017 should be the year y'all stop acting like “fiction is separate from reality” is a valid excuse for shipping nasty shit, sexualizing children, and romanticizing abuse

Source: blackamelielacroix-archive i wont try to step over the line and talk over ppl who are abuse survivors and stuff like that for whom fiction is a safe way for them to engage with and deal with those issues but on a site like tumblr reblogging can sometimes be taken as your implicit approval of said content so like. be careful i guess? this has some nuance to it in some cases is i guess what im trying to say not defending pedophilia or abuse or anything like that obv but again tumblr has that kind of inflammatory black-and-white kind of environment so just something to keep in mind dont use abusive crap being fictional as your scapegoat for getting jollies off of this kind of stuff that people who actually are also into this stuff will see being accepted and then be validated ask yourself: is this where children/survivors can find this easily do you need to be putting it on tumblr are you at least tagging it if so etc etc alright thats enough soapboxing outta me
