Keith kicked his feet up on the table, stretching a little and groaning. Pidge gave approximately one (1) disinterested look that didn’t really mean anything, and then turned back to her work. They sat in silence, just enjoying the other’s quiet company.

Only a moment later, she hissed in pain and swore. Keith glanced over and grinned.

“You good?” He asked, and she nodded.

“This dumb thing.” She said, leaning back. “I’ve been trying to upgrade my laptop to read Altean with a translator Coran gave me, but it’s not working right and it also keeps shocking me jesus christ-” The zap came again and Keith slid off the couch, into the mess of tools and parts on the floor.

“Did you ask Hunk?” He asked and she shook her head.

“He’s busy helping Lance, I don’t want to bother them, but ugh, this stupid…” She handed him a small tool. “Hold this.” Keith held it dutifully, sitting beside her and watching her struggle to place the translator inside, getting shocked a few more times.

“Let me try.” He said, after the fourth time. She groaned and handed him the wrench.

He looked at it for a minute and turned it, trying to fit it in, then tried again a different way. Nope. Still wouldn’t…he bit his lip, trying it one last way and then yelping.

Sparks flew from every side and he dropped both laptop and translator, hearing Pidge also shriek in surprise. He held up his arm to shield himself and ended up patting out a small flame from it wildly, with Pidge roaring with laughter in the background. He glared at her.

“It’s not gonna fit.” He declared, and she laughed harder.

“I see that now.” She gasped, taking the laptop and inspecting it for injuries. “You better not have fried it.”

“I think it’s ok.” He said, smiling and letting himself laugh for a moment. Pidge looked back and grinned.

“You looked so surprised-” She said, then they were both curled up and giggling.
