for i mean…..it is VERY unlikely that he is, that pod is no longer connected to the castle so its no longer filtering in nutrients to keep him sedated and alive (or at least, it wont be able to for very long after being disconnected probably), and space is FREEZING when ur not close to a star. BEYOND freezing. in fact the average temp out in empty space (aka most of space) is something like -455 F / -270 C. it’s not a temperature anyone could survive in (except for smaller more hardcore microorganisms like waterbears n stuff).

anyways, the point is, space is mostly empty and that emptiness is uninhabitable. not to mention that MOST planets are not capable of supporting any life (at least not the vast vatse majority that we have observed so far) so even if he did manage to lance on a planet (which is highly improbable given all the statistics, and there’s no guaranteeing he’d survive the crash) he probably wouldnt even land on one where he could breathe, much less keep surviving.

long story short his only hope of survival is if a galra ship (or other ally ship) took him aboard within like, a 24-hours of being launched into space (this is assuming the small pod can protect him from the temperatures of open space cause if it can’t then he’s only got a few minutes at most rip).

is it 100% impossible for him to have survived? nah. but the writers would have to pull some bullshit explanation out of their ass if they bring him back.
