You know why I think Adrien can’t see that Marinette is Ladybug?
Because the feeling of being with Ladybug is completely different from being with Marinette. Adrien seems to be a pretty physical person, and everything to do with Ladybug is caught up in a rush of adventure and risk and magic and fighting and just generally being superhero partners. The context is a lot to see past.
Marinette is part of his warm but mundane school life. The cool, talented friend that gives him warm fuzzies. He certainly likes her a lot, but their relationships are totally different.
Kagami has a leg up on Marinette in one sense just by being a fighter.
I think that if/when they start interacting more physically, his body will start to pick up on it long before his brain will.

I like to think that when keith’s scar was still fresh, he never took proper care of it and lance would get pissed off and inspect it for good measure.
