Concept: It’s season 3, no one becomes the black paladin because the black lion is out of commission for some reason, and the BP suit disappeared with Shiro.
Instead, Team Voltron focuses their efforts on getting Shiro back, which involves several somewhat perilous missions. During these missions each paladin gets to showcase their individual leadership traits and further develop as people.

Cause I could and cause I can:
Rhys is complex. There’s such things as 2D and 3D characters, but Rhys is more like a well rounded, 100 dimensional person.
I’ve seen them passionate and I’ve seen them funny and I’ve seen them annoyed. I’ve read of the things they worry about and I’ve listened to them scream and sing along to Disney.
They’re almost akin to a child in their joy, a grandparent in their wisdom, a teenager in their ability to shriek over fictional characters.
I’ve never seen them in person, but when I hear them laugh I think of a wide smile, sharp at the edges, with crinkled, dangerous eyes; something beautiful and badass, never thinking twice about taking you down.
They’re headstrong. Their personality holds their head high, even if their bones won’t (I have a gut feeling they slouch and shoot finger guns as a hobby).
They’re humble. They honestly cannot take a compliment for shit.
They overreact for the fun of it, they scream ‘fight me’ as often as possible, they’re a walking meme when they need to be and they’re always down to blast Moana. They’re avid in their arts; their words speak levels. Each sentence is worth a thousand words of art, and each work of art is worth a multitude of words.
They’re diligent in what they do. They’re /good/ at what they do.
I don’t really think I’d ever be able to completely analyze Rhys, they’re too complex, too many layers to them, too many faces and voices and expressions and emotions.
But the deeper and deeper I think about what makes them /them/, the more I feel like they’re a really just good person.
Not just the sweet, kind hearted samaritan, but a wholeheartedly pure person, no matter the cackling, witch-like laugh that lights the stars in the night.
Someone who’s always there, always watching and ready to help, ready to lend a hand or a joke or maybe even a drawing or two.
First off, this is scarily accurate, and all of my irl friends can vouch for that.
Secondly, I don’t shoot finger guns like it’s my hobby. I shoot finger guns like it’s my god damn job.
Thirdly, I’m not crying, YOU’RE crying.
