I don’t really understand how this could possibly be concerning, but I’ll clarify just in case.
- It’s not like there’s a certain age you have to reach before you’re allowed to be ace
- even though they shouldn’t be engaging in it, kids can know what sex is
- I knew how sex works since I was at least 9-11. Probably earlier.
- just because you’re headcanoning a kid as ace, doesn’t mean you’re implying all other children are actively sexual
- a disinterest in sex does not necessarily mean they’re ace
- an interest in sex does not necessarily mean they’re not ace
- I, for one, found sex fascinating and I was very curious about
- I’m sure there are non-ace kids who couldn’t care less about it
- I didn’t know what “asexual” was until I was high school. Just because I didn’t know what it was didn’t mean I wasn’t ace
- same goes for writing characters; I figured that when you’re headcanoning a young character as ace, it’s something the character themself wouldn’t even realize until they’re older and have a better understanding of what their feelings are
- ace kids exist. stop making things weird.
