How to let an author know you’re eager and excited for an update without giving them too much stress, annoying them, or looking like an entitled little shit:

Instead of: “update please!!” “when will you update??” “please don’t abandon!” “I need an update now!” “UPDATE!” “update when?” “will this be continued? please!”

Try: “your updates give me life!” “I can’t wait to see where this goes!” “I look forward to the update <3″ “can’t wait for the next chapter!” ect.

Don’t ask for an update. Don’t demand. Don’t plead. Let the author know their updates are appreciated and wonderful without putting any pressure on them to hurry.

also, just leaving a little comment about how you really liked a part of the story, or even a paragraph long screaming rant about how amazing this part was or how horribly this character acted (if on purpose) can be so motivating

knowing that people are not only reading, but reacting and engaged makes me want to give them more to read, more to love, cause for me, when it comes down to it, i write to share my stories. i write to share what i love, and knowing that others love it as well motivates me to no end

Source: wittyy-name i usually don't find those comments particularly annoying granted i also don't get a huge amount of them but on off days they set me off but i do enjoy each and every comment i really do
