HELLOOOOOOO okay so... Headcannons for... The Paladins not only bonding with their lions, but with the elements the lions are for too! Like with Shiro and Lance it shouldn't be super hard but with Pidge it's hard to go 'bond with nature' Keith and Hunk are both confused and they try :D

Ok so like we saw pidge bond with nature in s2 and I think she gets it. Atleast I get it kinda of.

And with shiro is like guardian of air/sky and here’s how I think of it. Air is calm most of the time and it takes outside forces to get it to wind up and be destructive. And when it does, it’s hella strong. And shiro is strong and remains calm (for the most part lmao)

So like in a sense, he embodies air/sky. So does lance.

And that leads into Keith and hunk.

Hunk being the guardian of earth/ground shows in how he supports everyone. He didn’t judge Keith about being galra and for the most part treated Keith the same, albeit with a few jokes here and there. And like lance being the guardian of water and being adaptive enough to keep everyone standing, hunk is solid enough to keep everyone steady. They make up the legs for a reason. So when hunk bonded with his lion on a deeper level, it was to support something, exactly what his element and lion are supposed to do.

Keith is the guardian of fire. He’s impulsive, quick to anger, decisive and also the attack arm of voltron. Keith relies on his gut and fire travels where it’s going to get the most fuel, so Keith follows the path where he can get the most results. And yeah sometimes he has his doubts and if a fire loses its fuel, it goes out. Like Keith in ep8 of s2, at the end of it, the means didn’t justify the results so he changed direction. Fires do that sometimes. So whole Keith does have his faults for rushing into things, it’s part of his nature, ya know? And Keith already has a deep connection with his lion, it showed when he first bonded with it by launching himself out of an airlock to get Red to open up. If that doesn’t scream red lion material to you idk what does.
