Kevin so does!! He grew up in a shitty place and now he’s trying to unlearn all that toxic mindset!He gets super anxious/nervous over the smallest things like making a phone call, cause if its not exy? Is he really good enough to do it? He’ll end up doing it perfectly and then have a shot of vodka cause he stressed himself so bad over it. Whenever anything inconveniences him like not making stellar grades he just shuts down. If he doesn’t know how to do it automatically he’ll just not do it all and will quietly freak about it because he doesn’t want to admit he isn’t the Perfect Most Well Rounded Student Athlete. Someone has to come along (Andrew) and quietly teach him how to study- knowing Andrew’s ass he probably slams some books on top of Kevin’s laptop while he’s watching an Exy game and is like. Read whats highlighted and make notes on what you remember. The only thing he’s solid and not anxious about is Exy because that’s his whole life. He’s been trained in Exy, lives and BREATHES Exy, but everything else?? He doesn’t know how to cook because he’s never had to do it before and Riko sneered when he asked about it. He doesn’t know how to study because he always had other Ravens work to use if needed. Every thing he is anxious about results in a quiet melt down from him because he won’t say anything about it at risk of being made fun of, and bottling it in makes him feel even more stressed out. It annoys Coach and Andrew and Neil because they’re all like…my dude ..my guy just mcfucking ASK if you need help it’s not that deep?? My poor baby Kevin just has a hard time being independent and being by himself because he’s never done it before.

Okay okay here me out
I’m pretty sure that Keith was in foster homes when he was kid (we know his mother is galra and he was surprised to see his father. Read: he disappeared when Keith was a child) Also, he doesn’t have a Texan accent any more, even though his father did, which suggests that he moved around a lot and it was lost.
So, maybe because was moved around schools a lot he was held back a year to make up for it academically.
We know that Lance’s birthday is soon and we all know that if Lance finds out he’s older than Keith than he’ll gloat about it FOREVER.
Could you imagine Lance rubbing it in his face all day, making all these jokes (when I was your age,, you shouldn’t speak to your elders like that,, I am older therefore superior etc) and Keith just silently laughing bc???
No but just imagine Lance’s face when Keith tells him that he was held back which makes him a year older than him. My poor soft boy would actually be heartbroken
(And then cue Keith making the exact same jokes Lance made in order to mock him)
