i get what you’re saying, however … ko/gane isn’t technically a fanon name, that was ke/ith’s canon last name in go/lion, as sh/iro’s last name was shir/ogane (well i mean technically his name was tak/ashi shi/rogane, same as in V/LD but yeah). in fact, sh/iro, ke/ith, and l/ance all had names that ended in -gane (shi/rogane, ko/gane, and kuro/gane––”silver”, “gold”, and “steel” respectively). so it’s not just “people giving ke/ith a similar last name to shi/ro” it’s a name he was given in the original anime (created by japanese people, i might add). i realize we don’t have a canon last name for k/eith in V/LD yet but people use ko/gane as a placeholder because that was his name in the original. hopefully that clears things up a bit.
