each line… basically says how many times it will spin before they all line up again. if you think of it like that hopefully it’s not bad

to go further, you may get that
- lines 2, 4, 6, 8…. also line up at half time,
- lines 3, 6 ,9, 12 … also line up at 1/3 and 2/3 time
- more generaly lines multiple of n also line up at 1/n, 2/n, ….. (n-1)/n time (explains that one)
