Most probable reasons why the other dragon in the poster looks the way they do: Because they live in a subterranean environment, are semi aquatic, have a pigment issue like leucism, and/or are a subspecies of Night Fury that have adapted to live in a drastically different environment (especially considering the background of the poster looks to be in a cave with lots of bioluminescent plants and the movie itself is called THE HIDDEN WORLD)
Least probable reason that the other dragon in the poster looks the way they do: HHUUUUUUUHH OBVIOUSYL???? THE CREATORS ARE DONE MAKING STRONK FEMALE CHARACTERS???? THE WHITE DRAGON LOOKS THAT WAY BECAUES THE CREATORS ARE HORRIBLE SEXISTS AND THINK THAT WOMEN ALL HAVE TO BE SOFT AND SMOOTH AND PRETTY LMAOOOOO THIS MOVIE IS TRASH (EVEN THOUGH I HAVEN’T SEEN A TRAILER FOR IT YET HAHA)

Hi there anon. Yes you’re right. There’s not so much difference from their httyd2 look. BUT of course they look a little bit older and to show it in the animation animators have widened their faces to make them look older. (pretty successful btw if you ask my opinion)
Okay let’s see the differences with pics. You asked for Hiccup and Astrid but I’m gonna write about the whole gang if you don’t mind :)
Hiccup - The first thing I noticed was his JAW. We are blessed to see that jawline again because, admit it, we all were expecting a Beardcup xD. Like if you thought his face couldn’t get more rectangular, you were so wrong XD
If we happen to see him older, he probably will look like this lmao
Then he has more hair. It is fluffy and a little bit messy (I LOVE ITTT) and more detailed than than httyd2 if you look closely, and there are more braids. I see 3 but there can be more. His eyebrows are thicker (not sure if we needed thicker eyebrows). His eyes are glowing XD I think he has tiny bit more beard? but that’s really not noticeable. Aaand the armor I mean obviously lol, HE IS A NIGHT FURY NOW *ROARR*
Astrid - OH MY FREAKING THOR LOOK AT HER! Ahem okay THE HAIR obviously as you see. She doesn’t have braided hair anymore but a messy ponytail (you can see the ponytail from the other pic, not visible here). The hair is more detailed and realistic now. Her face is more round. She wears a different headband and it has a sign that looks like a crown (DA QUEEN). I don’t see any freckles BUT no worries about this because this might not be the final shot. I remember Hiccup didn’t have freckles in httyd2 teaser and everyone went crazy but we saw the freckles in the movie. So yeah don’t worry we’ll get those frecklezz. And her eye color used to be dark blue? now it’s a little bit light but tbh it doesn’t matter for me. If anything it looks more real in my opinion. I’m not gonna mention the armor every time bc it’s obvious. They all look damn cool in those armors!
Fishlegs - FISHLEGS, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT MUSTACHE? He must have been hanging out with Gobber so much xD He used to grow facial hair for Ruffnut but I think she refused his proposal so he shaved and decided to have a mustache instead. His armor has helmet and it has those similar wings on it. And there is a place for carrying baby dragons in that armor (so cute) like a kangaroo (or at least that’s how I see it) And his freckles are in place.
Snotlout - Snotlout is the one who got the least difference I guess. He has shaved but mustache is still there. I think Ruffnut said she likes mustache so they both are growing mustache for her. But if that’s the case Fishlegs is winning :D He has the same thick eyebrows and the hair is also the same.
Ruffnut - SHE LOOKS SO COOL OMG! There’s not much difference except her braids are on the same side now. Aaand nothing. I don’t see more difference.
Tuffnut - I LOVE THAT FRONT BRAID OF HIS! It’s so Tuffnut. His face has been widened a little bit. And his eyebrows are darker. He looks little bit older if you look at more clear pics you’ll see
That’s all about the differences. My most favorite is Astrid, the least is Fishlegs.

So one thing that I can’t get off my mind, drunk or sober, is the ending of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. Hiccup unclasps his prosthetic to get Grimmel off of him and then the Light Fury saves Hiccup and brings him to the cliff. The next sequence is all Hiccup standing on his own WITHOUT A PROSTHETIC.
Like, “Haha, he unclasps his prosthetic, that symbolism of him letting go tootheless right?”
BUT immediately after we get Hiccup hobbling and standing without the ONE thing that has connected him to Toothless the majority of this series ALL WHILE SAYING GOODBYE TO TOOTHLESS.
They’ve basically removed everything that connected Hiccup and Toothless. First, the Saddle (had no saddle at night before leaving to see LF), then Hiccup remakes the fly-alone tail, And finally, no prosthetic. This is gonna be one long Berkcast episode @berkcastteam
I defer to @kingofthewilderwest to concur or rebuke me on this because their analyses are much better than mine.
