“Audimatrix” is about Mrs. Chamack having a televised interview with Chat Noir and Ladybug. Problem is, Marinette is supposed to be babysitting Manon at the same time. Mrs. Chamack seems to be getting pressured into asking somewhat invasive questions in order to raise the views or something.
This episode seemed oddly short and uneventful, but don’t let that fool you.
BOMBS WERE BEING DROPPED ALL OVER THE PLACE. LITERALLY, AS SOON AS THE LADYNOIR KISS (FROM DARK CUPID) POPS UP ON THE SCREEN MY HEART LEGIT STOPPED. CHAT NOIR IS SO SHOCKED ABOUT IT LIKE AHHHH! I never saw this coming up even though that was such a significant moment in season one, so I was truly unprepared for the kiss to be addressed at all.
I find it surprising that so many compromising pictures of LadyNoir have been documented, and I also thought the invasive and personal questions about Ladybug and Chat Noir’s relationship was a bit much. Rude even.
Ladybug seems insistent that they aren’t a couple, and Chat Noir is just reveling in new information. The next thing that made my heart stop was Ladybug “admitting” that she’s in love with Chat Noir, and then right after that Chat literally purrs at her when she falls on him. Of course, she does this to appease Audimatrix, and Chat Noir knows it’s a ploy, but the foreshadowing was REAL.
The whole episode I was really down that Alya still doesn’t know who Ladybug is because it would make life so much more convenient. But if Alya’s not suspicious now then…
Other things I noticed:
1. Gabriel was watching the program intently, but I have a feeling he checked out when the propaganda started. Though, I won’t be surprised if Gabriel puts the whole ‘love interests’ thing in the back of his brain for later (Especially if he knows the identity of Ladybug and Chat Noir IRL).
2. Chat Noir gets a bit too close to Mrs. Chamack’s face, and I’m hoping this indicates Adrien’s naivety of personal space. He was a bit flirty as well (not Marinette levels but still). It’s always been strange to me that Chat Noir/Adrien flirts exclusively with Ladybug and Marinette. This may be the creators de-bunking that misconception, but we’ll have to see what happens in the future.
3. Marinette and Chloe DO have similarities, and I just now noticed in this episode. Once you lie, embarrass, or anger Marinette, she loses her manners ASAP. Yeah, she’ll apologize and reconcile later, but I honestly love this about her character. It means she’s not perfect.
4. Chat Noir is still Adrien on the inside. Where Ladybug is awkward, clumsy, and a bit hot-headed, he remembers his manners. Even when Ladybug is pulling him out of the interview, he still is attempting to properly say goodbye and thank you to Mrs. Chamack (I think). That’s what I love about LadyNoir - they are already completely comfortable with each other, and they balance each other out perfectly. I’d love to see Marinette and Adrien like this, but Marinette still has her blinders on when it comes to Adrien.
5. Chat Noir tries to kiss Ladybug twice in this episode, and she keeps shutting him down. It’s hilarious, but my heart also aches when every time I see Chat Noir’s disappointed face. I think now that he knows that they have kissed, and he doesn’t remember it, it’s upsetting him.
Once again, when this is released in English, I’ll analyze this episode in more depth. Until then this is everything I noticed initially.
