here are some current *theories* I have for s2 (and beyond)

You might think that this is just stating the obvious/totally reaching but yeah! Here’s what I think will happen sometime during or after s2 of ML.

- I think we’ll be getting some Adrienette & Marichat development this season, meaning that we’ll see Adrien slowly being attracted to Marinette and Marinette being attracted to Chat Noir, so that the four ships will come all together before the reveal happens. The reason I think so is both the amount of Adrienette moments we were supplied with in e2s2 (which actually contained deeper interaction between the two compared to the Adrienette interations in s1 put together) as preparement AND the panel leaks that showed a Marichat balcony scene (which-!!!). Now you may or may not call this a reach but I do believe that a balcony scene or two (and/or scenes alike) will provide us with some vulnerable/honest Chat Noir moments, which will make Marinette see that there’s a deeper side to Chat Noir to what he seems like on the surface; that he isn’t just a flirty teenager stuck in a leather catsuit. Yes Marinette does care a whole lot about Chat Noir (as we’ve seen in Timebreaker), and although they’ve been getting more and more comfortable with each other , you can tell that Marinette mostly sees Chat Noir as a partner in crime at most rather than a potential romantic partner. and I do believe that Adrien not being able to display his usual sweet thoughtful self while trying to fight off akumatized victims plays a huge part in that. I believe that the balcony scene will set the appropriate mood for that side of Chat Noir to be discovered by Marinette.

- Gabriel has an ulterior motivation to his evilness rather than to simply be an asshole & a terrible father. I think by gathering the two most powerful miraculouses together, he’s planning on bringing his wife back somehow. Now clearly I have no idea how this can be done but i’m sure it could be pulled off by the writers since we’ve already discovered that the book contains very valuable imformation regarding the miraculouses’ undiscovered powers. I mean, we already know that the Ladybug and Chat Noir miraculouses are the most important ones out of all the other miraculouses with one symbolizing creation and the other symbolizing destruction. You’d only imagine for something major to happen if you were to get the two very fundametal aspects of existense brought together. Also at the end of s2e1, a photo of Mama agreste was shown in between the figures of Papillon and the Collector, which tells me that she does have something to do with Gabriel going through all this trouble, even if this theory isn’t exact truth.

(Just a sidenote but I’m like, %90 positive that she’ll come back sometime during the last season btw)

- I think this season will move much quicker and more purposefully than the first one did. I don’t think we’ll be getting 15 minutes of akumatized-victim-chase anymore with all the plot material that is to come. I mean, we have Chloé’s redemption arc, some obvious Adrienette action that’s coming our way, new superheroes and kwamis to be introduced into the miraculous team, new villains, the whole Papillon/Gabe plot going on along with all the subplots that are bound to happen etc. With 22 mins per episode I imagine it would be very hard to continue the episode flow as the flow of the 1st season. I think the first two episodes were proof enough of that with just so MUCH going on

based on these two images that belong to ep 4, i guess someone’s going to get akumatized in Marinette’s birthday party & chase after her? i’d say it was chloé but she already has been akumatized once so idk…

Wow I’m not sure. The party will be for Marinette we can see at the first picture. But everybody on that picture have been already akumatized except Alya’s mother if I remember well. Also it’s possible that Marinette’s grandma will be on the party too and she will get akumatized.

Adrien Agreste was homeschooled for his entire life and therefore didn’t have any friends except for Chloé, who is the exact opposite of him in terms of personality (she’s rude, highly critical of everything, inconsiderate, etc.)

He was also deprived from any kind of parental love/care from his own father, Gabriel Agreste, who conciously sends villains after his OWN SON, who prioritizes his own villainous motives before him. Adrien has dealt with his mom, the only person who he probably has idolized and learned love & kindness from, leaving; without a caring father or even friends who were there for him for support. On top of these, his father wasn’t there for him on his first Christmas without his mom, which drove Adrien so sad to the point where he escaped from his home in the middle of the night to stalk his friends’ families and feel even more depressed upon seeing their healthy family atmospheres.

His father neglects him to the point that he actually goes missing upon feeling as if nobody would even care if he did so. To the point where he can’t even give a proper answer to Ladybug when she asks him “do you think he’d take it out on his own son?” in The Collector. To the point his friends have to feel as if they need to speak up against the unfairness of the way Gabriel treats Adrien, like in The Bubbler.

He’s been “locked away” in a huge mansion all by himself, without any friends or a parental figure other than his mom, who escapes, to give some love to him. He’s put on a busy schedule that includes him doing modeling, taking Chinese & fencing lessons AND saving Paris every single day? And he doesn’t ONCE tell his father to cut him some slack every now & then??

Even though he’s only known Chloé as a friend, he never once acts mean towards anyone in school & even tells Chloé to be nicer to everyone, or else they can no longer be friends. He openly tells people that he hasn’t had much experience with friendships his whole life, acts as kindly as he can & never once speaks against his father.

He even tries to establish a deeper bond with his father (by initiating hugs, feeling over-thankful for a scarf he thinks his father has bought for him, always waiting for him before meals etc).

I know Adrien is far from perfect, but it really impresses me that Adrien managed to turn out the way he did. His family background forms an ideal villain backstory, but no, the guy saves Paris every single day instead.

I hope he gets some love during this season, from Ladybug at least..
