I mean they are afraid that others will find out what’s going on between them (maybe sonic wanted to know Amy’s true feelings on the first gif, or he was too naive to not figure it out). By now everybody knows and they still act like nothing is happening, but just look at Sonic and try to tell me that nothing is happening at all
