“I want to see more interaction between Chloe and Pollen”
2 minutes after “Into the SpiderVerse”
miraculous ladybug season 3?? more like the try not to strangle adrien agreste challenge
Okay so anyone who has any sense and looks at my blog, though not active very long, knows I freaking love Nathalie, Her monologue is Stormy Weather 2 was, quite honestly, my favorite part of the episode. (not disregarding the sweet scene between Alya and Nino, or the look that Ladybug gave Chat as he ran off, y’all know that one I’m talking about, but I digress-)
She has been working for Gabriel Agreste for so long that she has actually watched Adrien grow up. He probably doesn’t remember a life without her.
She regrets taking the job. It’s to much sometimes. Those were her exact words- and while undoubtedly she is referencing how demanding her job can be (I feel for you Hon, I do) she is also referencing having to watch Gabriel, the married man she found herself in love with purely by accident, suffer over the ‘loss’ (it both is and isn’t- she’s still alive, just not…there.)of his wife- as well as watching almost helplessly as he disappoints his son (who is grieving as well) over and over again. I do not doubt that Emilie and Nathalie were friends as well- especially considering how sad Nathalie is to see her the way she is. We have direct-from-the-source confirmation that Nathalie cares about Emilie Agreste, so we know, unlike some theories I read, that she isn’t going to betray Gabriel in the end to keep her asleep and take her place. She loves the Agreste family. All of them. And with Gabriel, she has this blind loyalty to him where no matter what the cost she just wants to see him and his family together and happy again, to take away his pain even at the cost of herself (which, let’s face it. Losing Nathalie would have a pretty big toll on Gabriel whether he could ever love her the way she wants him to or not.) Which leads me to this scene.

She’s still sick.
Putting on that Miraculous was no small deal. Just look at his face here.

This is the moment he realizes she was using Duusu’s Miraculous. It scared him. You can see it in his eyes, you can hear it in his voice- and why would you not? He obviously harbors deep affection for her, whether it’s romantic (lol, even if it were he’s the father of Just A Friend Agreste™ and would probably need Nooroo to tell him what was going on), platonic or otherwise. She’s been around so long. He’s trusted her with his biggest and darkest secrets. He’s already lost Emilie- he doesn’t want to lose her too. (BTW. side note let’s appreciate good voice actors, whoever you are that voices this guy, I avoid knowing who you are because it takes away from the characters for me but props to you for this scene).
He has witnessed what the damaged miraculous has done before, no doubt about that. It’s no mystery that we all suspect that it’s that miraculous that put Emilie out of commission in the first place. And (I am 100% certain that’s the case by now, I’ve learned to stick with my gut) we have no idea when it got damaged, or how long Emilie wore it (if this is how she fell into her slumber, again, I’m fairly certain it is.) before it knocked her out.
What we know about Nathalie is this.
The effects of this Miraculous linger a good while after even minimal use. If my intuition is right they very well may get worse, but that’s just something we’re going to have to find out. But she is literally falling to her knees. She’s still weak but she keeps on pushing forward. Literally moments after coughing her lungs out on the ground she’s back upright, barely even took a moment to catch her breath before assuring him she’s alright.
The thing is, Nathalie knew this could happen. Gabriel has talked to her about never using that Miraculous, he has told her the possible consequences. But she did it anyway. If she doesn’t show any signs of getting better we very well might see her go down a similar path that Mrs. Agreste did. And she’s well aware of that. Seriously. What better assistant could Gabriel have asked for? She’s so devoted.
But of course this is all after just one brief use of the miraculous. She probably does have a good chance at healing if she doesn’t do it again but, I’m fairly certain we’re going to see her use it again. After all, the woman is very loyal. Loyal, strict, determined and in love (with little experience in the whole love field, I’m sure). She just wants him to be happy- and with that desire, she really will do anything he asks of her.
When she said she would do anything for Gabriel Agreste, she really meant she would do anything.
me: marinette is developing by becoming adriens friend
fandom: ok we’re just gonna ignore that
All this time we’ve talked about what they’ll remember post-reveal, what things they’ll call each other out on, I wanna know what happens when Adrien remembers getting stood up!
“Wait, you’re Ladybug!”
“And you’re Chat Noir,” Marinette rolling her eyes, “we figured this out like a month ago,”
“No, if you’re Ladybug, then that means you were free the night you stood me up. You were sitting alone on your balcony, why didn’t you come to see me?”
“You had to be there, actually- yeah, you had to be there, that was the whole point.”
“What on earth is that supposed to mean?” Poor Adrien really was lost on that one.
“That was the night everyone was going out for ice cream, I ditched Chat Noir hoping Adrien would show, and then you didn’t so I went home to mope while Andre became akumatized. Then Chat showed up.
“Also, I saw your surprise, and I thought it was so sweet and I felt so bad for leaving you all alone. I never knew you were actually in love with me before that point.”
“You never knew? It’s not like I was exactly subtle. Miss-I-told-you-to-your-face-that-we’re-just-friends-nothing-more.”
